i would sell them, i tend to hold on to things too, and then i realize that i really need the space and end up getting rid of them. you have pictures for memories, sell the costumes so you can have more space and maybe even buy this years costume or something else.

I know that sentimental feeling, but after awhile, I have started to realize I can't keep everything, so try to pick and choose what is really important to me and maybe to them someday. Do you have pics with him in them? Then there is a good keepsake and less space consuming right there. At the same time though, I am someone who has saved what others may consider silly LOL., so maybe if you are not quiet ready, hang on to them a bit and the day will come when you will feel more ready to part with them.

I kept my boys' first Halloween outfits. One was born on Halloween, so of course I kept his outfit, and the other was 3 1/2 months old for his first Halloween. They're 10 and 8 now, so I've either let them play in them, or I've donated them to friends with smaller boys than mine, or I've sold them. They just collect dust in the closet and the kids grow out of them so fast that there's no sense in keeping them to see if they can get another year out of them. Besides, as they get older, they won't want to be the same thing two years in a row.

IF you have photos of your son wearing the costume, and you state you are wanting to clean out your closet, then there should be no reason to make a few extra dollars off of your old clothing items.
If you want to keep it, pack it away with other memorable clothing items. Every Mom in their right mind has clothing stashed away for their children to admire when they are older. Keep what you consider to be most precious to you.

I probably would not sell Costume due to depending on what conditioni it is I highly suggest to give the costome away to the goodwill for the poor to buy costome for their chilren Now that would be worth the hassel other wise just for a little bit of money will be a lot of work to send it in the mail if the item sold.

I went through the same thing. I did sell them, made enough money for the next costume, and for a XMAS present.

Of course sell them. He, his future wife and their children would just throw them away if you save them. Your sentiments cannot be forced upon others and most people have very few "things" they save. I have never known anyone with halloween costume on their list. Things are things and some of your clothes can go too. Please don't base your life upon "things". We will miss so much of you while you do this.
