id use a light gel...
nothing too thick or else its gonna flake

I like to do my hair that way if you want softer curls use mousse but if you want the cruchy kind use the gel.... I prefer the mouse...bed head has a really good curling mousse...also if you turn your hair upside down and use a blow dryer on low while you scruch your hair you will have better curls

mouse is much better n when dry a little bit of hairspray always works for me,any make but not extra firm hold it makes hair stiff n sticky

oooohh. LA BELLA. its at walmart for like $3 and it is pink. I hate crunchy hair so if that is the look you are going for la bella won't be good for you. when it dries it is curly and smooth. not crusty or crunchy. i like it a lot!

the best brands i have noticed are brand names from salons like "FIFTH AVE" and "JOHN FRIEDA" becuase some of the products do not contain alcohol that messes up your hair.
