what is the tax in texas on $4??

Depends on what city/county you're in. In some it's 7.25%, in others, it's 8.25%.

Where I live it's 8.25%, so 33cents on $4.

It depends on where you are at. I'm in San Antonio and the tax is @ 8.25%. That would make it .33 in tax ($4.33 total). =) Hope this helps you out!

Also, a good friend of mine had a neat trick for figuring out the tip at a restaurant... She said just tip twice the tax, that puts the tip at a little over the 15% standard. =D
