It seems like most of the girls who are interested in me are shy, and I'm not sure why (although I'm shy too.) Is this normal?

Shy people tend to perceive their own shyness as a negative trait and many people are uneasy with shyness. On the other hand, many shy people are perceived to be good listeners and are more likely to think before they speak.
Well it says that the opposite characters are attracted, but evidently you are an exception to the rule. Enjoy being popular with shy girls!

Yeah, they probably feel comfortable around you because they know you understand them. A similar thing happened to me - the guys who liked me were all quite similar in personality to me - but the problem was, I wanted a guy was Different from me. Fortunately eventually a guy came along and we are dating and he's practically my opposite so it's pretty interesting.
So yes it is normal. And if don't want somebody shy, then just pluck up the courage to talk to some louder girls. Or maybe there's someone among those shy girls who's just right for you.

ya if you don't want to be shy anymore you have to slowly go out there until you take big steps and trust in God about shyness too

Maybe they feel less intimidated by you, because of the fact that you're not one of those loud, in your face types. I wouldn't say it was abnormal, hey, it's probably even a good thing!

yes this can be normal. make the first move. go to her and introduce yourself and say hi. make some comment about what's going on that particular day. smile and be yourself.
