Actually they are both "semitic" people.
You know the Jews were often called "Palestinians" and all things Palestinian at one time referred to Jews and Jewish things it seemed. Actually there never was a country called Palestine, a language called Palestinian, a currency of such a country, etc. Show me the borders of Palestine and name it's first ruler, for instance. Some say the origin of the terms PALESTINE and PALESTINIAN came from the Romans, who, after they conquered a land, knew how to subjugate it. They renamed the land and it's peoples to help aviod any chance nationalists woud rise up against them. They did this time & time again and it was the Romans who allegedly first called a part of the Middle East "Palestine" and the name stuck. But it wasn't the name of a country. It was the name of a general region. So it is as accurate to call the Jews Palestinians as those Arabs who came later from other places and now though they claim to be "Palestinians", have even less claim to the title or the so-called "Land of Palestine" than the Jews of Israel.
Semitic people are the descendants of SHEM, one of the sons of Noah, not to be confused with SHEMP, who replaced Curley once he could no longer continue due to illness.
Their enemies tended to be descendants of HAM, SHEM's cursed brother. However, this does not apply to the current arab/Israeli conflict completely since, as you suggest, many Arabs are distant kin to the Jews, though few probably accept or admit it. Now a page I referenced below says that Isaac was the father of the Jews while his brother Esau went on to be the father of the Roman Empire. Before I had read Esau was the father of the Arabs and it appears on the page below this would be the Amalak, also descendants of Esau.
Followers of Islam tend to cite Ismael as their forefather and indeed that seems to be the case, so I apparently had it wrong thinking that those who oppose Israel today came from Esau.
It sounds to me like the Amalak are the current rulers of Iran (not to be confused with the good people who live there - I have nothing against rank & file Iranians, it's the nuts who are running the place & THEIR followers I have problems with).
This was interesting:

I am not sure If I am right but I would not mind being corrected. I know some people may get upset but hits is just an observation.
I believe they both are descendants of Abraham the second generation from Noah of the Old Testament. Choice of religion has set them apart. Muslim religion is always a group that asks for separations from its mother land believing that government must not have division between church and state. India was several times bigger in area that what they are now. Muslims mostly are parts that separated from Indian government due to being a different religion from Hindu,.. You can name them as Kurdistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and others. Philippines has three separate big Islands and Mindanao is predominantly Muslims and they are at war this time vying for a self government as Islamic state.
Yes, they are mostly of the same race separated by their beliefs.

People who live in the same region often share more similarities than they like to admit. They might have developed different culture and religions but they might share some common genetic traits. Often people see the differences rather than the similarities. In my opinion, we all share the same qualities as human beings, regardless of colour, race and language.

Of course they are alike. They are human beings, they almost speak the same language, they have shared and fought over the same land for thousands of years.
SO WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
