PS- my sister says she'd really prefer not to play Coatlique's daughter Coyolxuahqui (the moon goddess) at this years Sungod festival... getting chopped into little pieces can be such a damper to one's spirits ...

Yeah, there are some really cool legends and Quetzalcoatl is just one of them.
But, you also have to admit that most of polytheistic pantheons has cool gods and goddesses, not only Mayans, but Irish gods, Greek gods and definitely Egyptian gods.

Studying the Maya, Aztecs and Incas is one of my hobbies. It is fascinating how well organized their societies were and all the religious rituals are interesting too. It is something how there are pyramids all over the world too.
