I believe there's a day in September, or is it just any old day?

See You at the Pole™ is scheduled annually on the fourth Wednesday in September, which is September 27 in 2006.

For our town it's Wednesday, Sept. 20. at 7:00 a.m. I don't really know if it's the same everywhere. Maybe we'll find out.

At the high school where I teach, they do it every Wednesday morning at 7:30 am
