Islam may have its faults but it least its followers attend Mosque for worship throughout their adult lives. Why are Christian churches full of the elderly? Do you think they become more God-fearing as their demise approaches, and they feel they must convince God that they are really good people, even after a life of sin?

the church gets them out of the cold and gives them something to talk about.

Are you stupid enough to think that by going to church, or attending mosque gets you a better place in heaven. You say Islam has it's faults, no that's not true, it's the so called people of Islam that has faults, as the world can see today, and i know that there are lots of good people amongst them, so why don't they stop these problems?
You don't need to attend church, or a mosque to have faith in God.

Most worship all their lives but in some churches no young people are taking their places. Whilest in other churches all ages attend and are very busy. I guess it looks like the elderly are hedging their bets to an outsider but who am I or you to stand in judgement of others. That's the job of God alone.

I am a Christian and I am not perfect. I sin because I am human. I try desperately not too. No Christian has to convince God they are good because God sees all and he knows all. He forgives all sin if you truly mean your sorry .

We are all Gods children and we should not attack each other. I belive that God gave us free will to choose our faiths and its not my job to make windows into other humans souls. I respect you choice and hope you can respect mine. And that of any dear old codger who realises he has led a life of sin and is truly sorry..who am I to say God should turn his back on one of his flock? God celebrates one bad old sinner returning like a long lost son. That's why I am Christian because I too am a bad old sinner. May God bless you always

lol - guess you dont go to church. Most of the elderly people I know who attend church have done so for most of their lives, if not all of their lives. There are plenty of young people these days too.

I am not one of them - used to be, but not anymore. Just thought you should know, its just not like that. Also, I would ask you, if you found yourself in a life threatening moment - where you were seriously scared - would you honestly not offer up a prayer? How diff is that from what you accuse the elderly of in your question? Just a thought.

that is not right, so many more younglings attend christian church. Maybe in certain areas elderly are overrunning a christian church but there are many young pple also attending.

Look i loved John Paul the second as a grandfather. And what he said changed my life. I will never hate islam even tho im christian. We both think the same we both focus on a god. I just hope you feel the same as me and dont hate us christians.

I don't know what Christian churches you are describing, but I have only attended Christian churches with a variety of people from every age group. Mine was full of children today. God knows the true believers. How could we convince Him of something He already knows? I don't know what your beliefs teach you, but Jesus taught us not to insult or judge others, but to love them instead.

If you think that you must attend a mosque or church to hold a faith, then I feel very sorry for you. All religious books, from my understanding, tell us God, Allah or whoever, is all around us at all times. You can be faithfull providign you have faith in yourself.

Well you obviously haven't been to my church...we had so many kids. But you are right. The closer we get to death the more we start wondering if we did all we could do. We start wanting to "make up" for all the sh*t we done in our lives. We get smarter too though. When I was a kid, I didn't want to read my scriptures, I wanted to play. Now, I'm done with playing. I want to learn. I've wasted the days of my probation...now I'm trying to make up for it.

What is the basis for your conclusions?

The churches I've attended, across the US, are full of children.

Seems you're being a little judgmental yourself, there, Holmes.

you have no idea what you are talking about. all ages go to church. i bet you never been to a church. i wish you non believers would stop talking about things they know nothing about. GOD can and will forgive any sin at any age who accept HIS SON. JESUS is the only way to GOD
