I am so sorry for your loss...I wish I could say or do something to make you feel better. Rent a really funny movie and pop some popcorn...that should ease your mind for a while. Unfortunately, it's going to take you some time to heal, so there really isn't a quick fix for grief. Take care of yourself.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a dog that we got when I was 7 years old he died when I was 26 (he was 19!). I still think about him and miss him very much (I am now 40) and sometimes I dream that he is still alive. It's OK to cry; it's OK to miss your German Shepherd. After a while the pain will ease and you will have all of your wonderful memories!

I remember the silly things about my dog. How when we moved to London, he was already 12 years old and had never seen snow. He didn't want to go out in the yard to go potty because his feet got cold. How he would love to jump up and get his leash off the refridgerator when he wanted to go for a walk. How he used to dance around with my mother if she sang and clapped her hands. How he was scared of bees because he had been stung so if you made a buzzing sound he would start to growl. How I used to dress him up in shorts and a T-shirt and he looked funny! My mom even knit him a Santa hat that he would wear at Christmas; which ever present he sniffed at under the tree would be the first one we'd open.

I know that all this doesn't ease the pain. I know how you feel.

When you find yourself thinking a lot about your loss, try and find something else to focus on and keep yourself busy. It will take time to ease the pain. I know it may sound silly, but a stuffy toy or pillow to hug may help comfort you. As soon as you're ready, I'd visit a shelter and adopt a new pet. It wouldn't take the place of your dog that you love so much, but what it will do is start a new love. If you rescue an animal, your doing a good thing.
My dog Sasha was rescued from a abusive owner. She is so loved and spoiled that her tail hardly ever stops wagging, except when she's chasing it! She runs around in circles it's so funny to watch her!

well as any pet owner would say, sorry for your loss. but it is time to grieve. Pets are like our family. be sad. but then once you have been sad, think of the good times. I bet your dog Ivan is in doggy heaven, chasing my cat!!! Ya very funny. I lost my cat about two years ago. I have not had one since, not because i don't want one but because my husband is allergic. You will overcome this, i promise. And maybe in a while you can get a new puppy, trust me your dog Ivan would have wanted someone to protect you. right?

I'm so sorry for the loss of your pet. I once had a cat when I lived in New Orleans who was run over, there was no place to bury him so I wrapped him in his favorite blanket and put him in a hatbox which I put in the freezer until I could find a place to bury him. I know it sounds sick but I couldn't put him in the garbage.

I also had a friend who had a Great Dane that was hit by a car she also had a little bird that had died, she put the bird in a shoe box planning to put it in the grave she was digging for her Great Dane, she had the hole big enough for the dog and a person passing by saw the little box but not the dog, he said I think you have it big enough now, while she didn't laugh at the time later she thought it was funny.

Nothing helps the pain like a good cry. Think about your good times with him. I've lost a few dogs, cats, and ferrets all of whom I love dearly. I think back on them with fond memories and how much they meant to me. Sometimes I still tear up. That just means that you loved your dog. He had a great life that YOU gave him. You're a wonderful person for having been there for your dog. Always remember that.

When I was a child we raised a lot of animals cats, dogs, rabbits etc. when ever the would pass away we would bury them close by so I could still visit them and take flowers. Maybe also keep out a favorite pic of him. losing an animal is like losing a person. I feel for you and good luck on moving on.

It is really hard to lose a pet. It will take time but life will go on. For some people the best thing to do is go out and buy a new pet but for others it takes time to grieve first. Do what you feel is the best thing for YOU to do. Keep your head up.

Ho!!!!!! sweetie!!! I sooooooooooooooo feel your pain.

We lost one of our dogs in January and it was the most painful thing. You feel so helpless. I wish dogs lived longer. Selfish I guess. But there's really nothing anyone can say to ease your pain.

You need time to mourn. Cry it out it helps. It will be hard but you'll pull through.

Take your time and don't run to get another dog. You'll know when you're ready.

Think of your dog, happy, in doggy heaven.

Good luck!
