No it is not!

You have that right.
There has been more blood shed with Religion as the root cause than any plague or disaster that ever hit the world. Rather it was the Crusaders slaughtering the Muslim, the torture of the innocents, the Inquisition , the persecutions.
Not one war , because Leaders always use it as an excuse or as something to evoke religious righteousness. They certainly use it to get elected.
The conquests , murder and outright slavery done with God's authority, rather it be Muslim, Spanish, English , France, or America. Bush has not only pitted Christian against Muslim In the Mid East. He has created such a religious rift in this country he may as well have stabbed a knife in it's heart!

That's true! Cuz what we actually are following is men guiding, so you've probably heard that when a blind follows a blind! Man kind is not perfect but God is n he also understand us perfectly so if we try to follow his rules and no man's then we may succeed in finding the true religion where all humans become brothers, no wars no fightings, no hate, no borders! That would be a true paradise!

Politics is the cause of war. Even the crusades were political.
Politicians call upon their religious contacts to enflame passion among the people. People are passionate about their religion (even atheists...). Religion is the most passionate and person thing that extends beyon just a sole person that we have in our world. it invokes more passion than almost everything else.
Politicians who wish to enflame people to their political cause use the opiate of religion to do so. Those who are blinded by the rhetoric and unable to formulate their own beliefs but stand as sheep to thsoe religious and political beliefs of their clergy will zealously rise and fight he political war.
Most religions frown upon needless violence. However, their leaders contradict their beliefs in calling their people to war.
Most deities do not condone war except as a last resort to protect the people from needless and senseless violence. Any religious leader that calls people to war in the name of their god is more than likely a false prophet and should not be herald as a religious leader in the first place.
Most religious people and clergy can take a hard lesson from Ayatola Sistani. He is an islamic holy man akin to a christian archbishop. He refuses to be involved in politics and say that the politics and laws of man should not be governed by the laws of the church, but by the good conscience of the political leaders, regardless of the sect of religion they have chosen.
I am not a muslim. I am not a christian. I have my own religion and it is a personal one. I keep it there. My religion not only does not condone killing people in the name of my god, but is strictly opposed to it.

I am not so sure that it is religion, just those that lead the churches. They whip everyone they can into a frenzy and it gives them more power. Politics/religion same thing. Power is the cause of war.

War is caused by a person or group trying to gain power. They will use any means and religion is a very handy one.

Religion isn't totally the problem but the people who hide behind it are. People who look to religion as a good thing only focus on the real solution and that is GOD.

Most wars historically are for plunder and loot. Just read how the Roman empire fell. Too many armies running around attacking them over time.
