I go through hell during marching season. I marched my freshmen year and quit because of it. Now its my senior year and im maching agian. I don't want to quit but I don't want to deal with my itchy ozzy disgusitng skin. Is there a mouth guard for the flute? Or can I just paint my flute with clear nail polish?

get a flute with a gold mouthpiece. They are a little more expensive, but if you really want to play the flute, that seems to be the best way to go.

I agree with the above answer as that is the most common way of dealing with a nickel allergy. You don't even need an entire gold head joint, you just need a gold lip plate. Go to a music store and tell them what make and model your flute is and I'm sure they can order one for you.

No I don't play the flute really well, although I play 3 other wind instruments. I want to next learn the violin.
