When you look at Christianity and Islam, you cannot say that they worship the same God. The belief systems are diametrically opposed to each other. This is not an issue of style, but of substance. They are not the same God. There may be some within each group that may make the claim that it is the same God, but they would be deluded.
An example:
In Islam, the Qur'an states rather clearly, "Proclaim: Allah is One. Allah is Eternal. He neither begets nor was begotten." (Surah 112:1-4)
In Christianity, we believe that Jesus was begotten. (John 1:14) Jesus clearly states that He is God: "Truly, truly I tell you, before there was an Abraham, I am!" (John 8:58) Naturally, there are many other examples I could use, but it wouldn't really help.
Now, we have a conundrum. Either Islam is right, and Jesus is not God, nor begotten; or Christianity is right, and Jesus is God, and is begotten. We can't have it both ways. Islam will never hold to a belief that Jesus is God. And Christians will not accept that Jesus is not God, and is not begotten.

The Quran teaches (specifically) that the God worshipped by Jews/old testament and the God of the new testament, is the same God worshipped by Islam/Muslims.
I fear that we are getting into the debate of the "true" God, an answer we will not KNOW until we are dead and meet Him.
Indeed, is the GOD worshipped by conservative christians (southern baptists, etc.) the same as the God worshipped by "liberal" protestant denominations? Or the Mormans (which include the Bible, including the New Testament as scripture)?
And do not forget the Crusades, where the commandment from the Pope was delivered to kill those not Catholic.
Is the God used to justify the Ku Klux Klan the same God that is worshipped by mainstream Christians?
Or, are we all trying to interpret the Bible with our own prejudices and beliefs, and making God fit our definitions. Indeed, virtually ANY proposition can be proven through the Bible.
So, the Quran DOES teach that it is the same God. As a Christian, you need not believe this, but that does not change the teaching and beliefs of the vast majority of Muslims.

Allah does no longer order his followers to kill people who deny Islam! the international could be in so lots greater turmoil if this became the case. i'm a Muslim, and all different Muslims i comprehend have in no way tried to kill every physique for this "reason" you talk of. Did you're making this up, or did you hear it from the media or somebody else? How ignorant can one be? Why are you on Yahoo! solutions once you're able to be frightened approximately being "killed" by a Muslim? additionally, Islam is the final of the Abrahamic religions. each and every thing in the previous Islam became Islam (which ability Judaism and Christianity), yet those religions have been corrupted and adulterated, and as a effect Islam emerged to repair the previous flaws of its predecessors, no longer able to be corrupted or scathed, and the Qu'ran keeps to be UNCHANGED to on the instant, lots no longer purely like the Bible. In different words, if Christianity became in no way corrupted and adulterated, there could have been no want for Islam to take place, and hence all Muslims could be Christians. yet that isn't the case, as Christianity became certainly corrupted...Muslims have faith in Abraham, Moses, AND Jesus, and look at them significant prophets of Islam. Jesus became considered one of Allah's (God) mightiest messengers. hence, Allah is the comparable God as "God", as that's the outstanding of the Abrahamic religions. Allah is only the Arabic translation. Now, you declare that the Islamic "Allah" and the Christian "God" are completely distinctive, and are not the comparable God being worshipped. we could placed it this way: 2 human beings see a cat. considered one of them insists that the cat is black. the different argues that that's dark brown. the two have faith contained in the comparable cat, they simply have faith countless issues appropriate to the cat. One does no longer say in this occasion "Oh, you are able to desire to be talking approximately another cat, because of the fact this one is black!", because of the fact the two human beings of course see the cat. desire that helped you comprehend..

How can a Christian be an infidel, when a Christian is regarded as "people of the book," which is a good thing. Please copy and paste the verse from the Quran which says this.
Christians believe Jesus (PBUH) is God, but Allah is God. Jesus (PBUH) is a Prophet of Allah.

so...most of these answers are crap.
Islam is said to be a "sister" religion to Christianity (and judaism) because Islam is decsended from Ishmael, the brother of Isaac. Isaac's son in jacob....whose name was changed to Israel. both muslims and christians believe they serve the God of Abraham.
For you Christians you that are claiming that Allah is a different god...get your facts straight. Christianity is Monotheistic (mostly :) ) so there are no other Gods. Anybody who is serving a creator is serving the one and only God. Im not saying they are not mistaken or tha salvation can be had through other faiths, but they are trying to serve God.
get over yourselves

One day an old man divided his children into two groups and assigned to them the task of massaging his body, he assigned an equal portion of both halves and they commenced the task, after some time a dispute broke out about who was performing the better job, the teams then grew violent against the other and to discredit the other team started beating the portion of the body assigned to the other side, therefore promoting themselves as the best.
This is the position of modern day religious groups who instead of loving God are promoting themselves and their team or group as the best.
The purpose of mature spiritual/religious groups are to develop love of God, be compassionate to all living entities and promote world peace, this is the standard of real superiority and leadership.

I'm Muslim and the answer is yes. The same god as Jews to. The word Allah doesn't mean god it means THE GOD, ONE GOD, GOD and we believe that Jews and Christians have a poor misconception of god especially in the three in one form.

you answered your own question. SOME muslims....not all. similarly not ALL muslims consider other religions to be infidels and then proceed to kill them.
besides i think its all the same god. the god of abraham. judaism, islam and christianity. what seperates them is interpretation.

They worship the same God, but in different ways. It is the way of worship that creates all the fuss and bother. Sometimes the tenets of religion obscure the basic belief.
