What a coincidence! That's the same number as people following Islam, and the agnostics/athiests/not religious group is growing faster than Islam. I saw a Muslim say that at the current growth rate, the entire world will have converted to Islam by the year 2050. I wonder if they're right...

in the journey that they are conversing for themselves, what are they retaining? seem at each and every of the diverse religions there. that would not argue for some thing different then the very shown reality that many human beings prefer to have a religious agency they're allied with. Your numbers do not take into about those who perceive with a particular faith yet who're no longer established attendees at facilities, or who're even with the reality that they declare to be in call actually and for social causes actually, no longer religious ones. It also would not think about many those who opt for no longer to be said as atheist or agnostic because of the social disadvantages keen about some circumstances. even as thrilling, those numbers are unnecessary in any type of discussion with regard to the reality of deity.

Maybe. The 'not religious' lobby publishes a quarterly statistical estimate of their numbers. I think that in Q1 2006 the number stood at around 800-900 million.

Don't forget to count me in as an Atheist... I'm sure there's more of us than most would imagine... But 1.2 billion sounds like a good estimate...

considering there are 7 billion people in the world, this is probably true, that just means there are 5.8 billion people who do believe in some sort of god

that number is hard to count because it factors in that Most of Communist China is Atheist and the vast majority of Europe is Christian.
it truly hard to tell who is a active atheist or just one by association.
