I'm assuming you mean wider, not even longer.
Try:
Light colors (pastels)

Well lighted (diffuse but bright) (evenly from end to end, not several individual lights as that will lead the eye to make it appear longer. And not fixtures on the walls as they will take up an already narrow space)

Pictures of distant landscapes on the walls

Mirrors on the walls (try a mirror opposite the landscape picture or opposite another mirror) (but don't create a "fun house" effect)

Paint the door (if there is one) and / or trim at the end of the hall a bright color so it will seem closer

Do not put a mirror at the end of the hall. That makes it look longer.

First paint it a light lemony color. Sherwin Williams sells shades called "illuminescents" which reflect light, are clear not muddy. Also hang a big mirror and keep the accessories simple. A small bookcase with a lamp or candles. Not too much "stuff". If the floor is dark, run a long, light colored carpet on it.

If you know an artist who can do it or is willing, have them use one wall to paint a life-size mural in relief. Make it look like a meadow, garden or patio for instance -- or look like the inside of a department store if you are an avid shopper.
