Of course not, that's a step backwards.

And it's "anti-American", and leads to religious oppression, the same reason folks came to America in the first place.

I think the Romans already tried this with the disciples when they preached the Good Word? Christianity still exists, do you really want to start from there again? That would only make a lot of Christians very happy, because to sacrifice this existance in the name of Jesus is the greatest way to show you love and believe in God and His Son and His Holy Spirit, and the world would never be able to exist as we know it today because there are more of us.

Doesn't the government make us do enough stupid things already?

I think if they do, many people will "ban" the government. Our country (US) was founded on Christian principles and the freedom to worship. They will not ban any religious group without a fight. I would worship the Lord even if I were told it was illegal and violators would be killed. My eternal life is more important than the life on this earth.

Now you do know that 3 of the 4 options you listed could be considered religions? So........that's not really a ban, then, is it?
Yeah, never could happen. There's no way to truly control what a person thinks inside their little heads. they could tell you they have no faith, yet still believe to themselves.

No. Not that we wouldn't be better off without them -- clearly, we would. But simply from a pragmatic point of view: it would not work. People are too much satisfied by their superstitions to give them up easily, as experience in the USSR demonstrated.

You know that will never happen. How does that make you feel? The French tried that during their revolution, you know communists ban religion.

No. It would not be practical, feasible, cost-effective, and would be extremely difficult to enforce. I think that the idea is bad.
