I think it would depend on when he would be back. If he would have a leave after say, three months, I would wait until he was back to let him know, and have something special planned.

But if you wouldn't have the opportunity to see him until the baby is due or until you are pretty far along, then I would let him know right away. It would be kind of neat if you had ultrasound pictures or anything to send him a special care package so that he could share as much as possible in this experience with you.

Well if her husband is the father of the child she should send him a message ASAP with the happy news. It will give him one more reason to stay hopeful and upbeat while he is away.

Then she should start getting the prenatal care and support she needs to have a happy, healthy pregnancy

If (and I hope this isn't the case) the baby isn't the husband's, keep the news to yourself until he makes it home safely. You don't want to mess up his head when he needs to concentrate on staying alive.

I found out last year that I was pregnant about 15 days after my DH went to Iraq. Ironically after days of not hearing anything from him he called me about 5 minutes after I found out.
You never mentioned, when is he coming back?

Wow what an awesome gift to him. Send a telegram right now. It will motivate him even more and put a smile on his face ear to ear. I hope he comes back o.k. Our Prayers and thoughts are definitely with him.

I would tell him as soon as possible. I bet it would give him something more to look forward to while he is serving our country. What a wonderful blessing. Congrats to you both.
