I have a very large "country kitchen" and a beautiful patio table and chair set with an umbrella. its just beige and white striped like the chairs, not a wild pattern or anything. but would it be tacky or cool to put it in my kitchen like that? i thought it was kind of funky cool but whats your opinion? also i have 3 kids and i thought it would be kind of fun eating dinner like that. am i crazy?

I think it sounds awesome and fun. What's tacky anyway? Hang lights from it for "moonlit" dinners. Your children will love it and always remember. Can't you just hear them someday..."Remember when mom put that patio table in our kitchen? That was so cool!"

No, you're not crazy, there's nothing wrong with wanting to do something out of the ordinary! Maybe you could try having the table inside every once in a while..? It sounds like a fun thing to do for the kids for their birthdays or special "fun" days. Try it out at least!

It is all up to you.. If your kids think that looks cool.. take their opinion first. The decorations and colors in our homes have to be..what WE..like... What makes us happy and what makes our house look and feel unique! GO FOR IT!!.. Make it fun..follow the theme around the kitchen..let your kids get involved....and make dinner time exiting!! Good Luck!

I don't think I would want lawn furniture in my kitchen, especially with an umbrella. But, if you like it thats what matters. I think it would look tacky and out of place.

The umbrella makes me think of picnick outtings which ties into your theme. I think as long as you have a nice high ceiling this could be a really neat and unique decorating touch.

since your name is crazytown, i'd say -- yes, you are crazy - but as far as your question about the furniture - sounds like a unique idea - i'd try it - and with 3 kids, if they are very young, it won't matter if they ruin it with their playdough, or pancake syrup or whatever other mess they make

Not sure if it would be tacky to have an umbrella in your house...though it is pretty damn odd
