Less calories than your body needs for its activities that day. It is simple arithmetic. As soon as you eat 3500 calories less than your body needs you will lose one pound. If yo ate 3500 calories too much you will gain a pound.

Most people need about 2000 calories per day but it depends on what your activities are and what your weight is.

1800 calories a day will have you losing weight in a very short time.

Get a diabetic diet..(I am on one now and there is a lot of food on there to eat).

You will find that its not "boring" and that you can eat until you are full...(maybe not "full" if you are a huge eater but you will be comfortable).

It seems to be the diet that people seem to lose weight very fast, so, I am going to be on it for a year and see how I do. I am posting my results every week on my 360 page for my benefiet and see how my progress is each week.

So far, 317 started at, and down to 302...but, a lot of that is water weight, as I am a heart patient, so, until I get to 290, I cant really say that I am losing by the diet...(only second day so far, so I know that I have to lose the water weight as I am coughing a lot and going into congestive heart failure, so the diet is a must!).

Or, you can just take into account of what you eat every day. Take down every bit of food or snack that you eat for two days. Now, go to a chart and see how many calories they are. When you calculate them, then, start by giving up one thing, each day, until you are bringing your calories down. (Start with the snacks, as that is the most calories that you can get).

I wish you well..

Jesse

Your calorie intake depends on your weight, but generally 1000 calories a day is a good number for a woman on a diet. Men eat a bit more, 1200 calories daily.

Take in 3500 calories less than you expend OR burn off 3500 more than you take in to lose 1 lb. Realistically, you should aim to lose a maximum of 2-3 lbs per week average. Some weeks you will lose more than others.

Daily caloric intake is strictly individual based upon your height, weight and BMI.

An easy way to lose weight without majorly changing your eating habits is to only consume water. Rule of thumb is 1 oz of h2o per pound you weigh, if you weigh over 150 lbs, then increase to 1.5 oz per pound. Doing only this will drop 5 lbs a month!

you do not need to watch your calories to lose weight. Just watch what you are eating. do not eat too much junk food and eat healthier. what you should watch is salt (sodium) when your body takes in food high in sodium then it makes you thirsty, and adds water weight. if you completely cut out sodium from your diet you will drop a bunch of weight(water weight) then it is up to just eating right. be careful with canned foods, very high in sodium!!!

Less than you burn. That depends on how much exercise you are doing.
