The theory of evolution has a lot of logical errors in it, and is accepted on faith by many well-meaning mini-intellectuals. God inspires so many people purely because they don't want to take the chance that Hell exists. Do I have any friends here or am I "the island" that Jon Donne said did not exist among men?

Nope. You are the independent thinker that stands by his rational thought.
I don't think God inspires people purely because they don't want to take the chance that Hell exists. There is a lot more to religion than fear of Hell, but assimilating the whole thing, holus bolus, is certainly an act of faith (no pun intended).

It does not make you a skeptic, as said above.

I see two big, BIG errors in your reasoning.
1) "The theory of evolution has a lot of logical errors in it, and is accepted on faith by many well-meaning mini-intellectuals" funny about the near 100% rate of the great minds of the world think that it is correct.

According to you, however, the people who are capable of producing metathesis synthesis are mini-intellectuals.

So, who is *not* a min-intellectual?
So, the great biologists, the entire collection of the great minds of science, a collection of the brightest on the planet, are 'mini-intellectuals'. Right.

As for the 'logical flaws' - I know evolution rather well, and I don't see any. Why don't you point some out? Or at least try. I won't hold my breath.

And the second flaw is:
"God inspires so many people purely because they don't want to take the chance that Hell exists" not really. That is the right-wing viewpoint. I have met many, many theists, but so very few have believed anything like that.

Time for you to try to justify your position.

Questioning evolution and God is very intelligent.

If you see logical errors in evolution, then do some research to try to find better logic, or better evidence. There is a massive amount available and it is being added to all the time, but not all the evidence is accurate, of course. Any theory takes time and effort to refine. You can never prove evolution, (or any scientific theory) but you can disprove it with just one piece of incontrovertible evidence. So far noone has done that.

As for God, I suggest stop looking at God as described by other people, and go within to find your own God. When you find the central core of peace within you, you will find your own God.
It takes time and practice.

P.S. Heaven and hell both exist, within you, at the same place and the same time. It is your choice as to which you experience.

If you don't believe in evolution that makes you smarter than a lot of people. If you don't believe in God that doesn't make you quite as smart as some.
The first verse of the bible says that God created the Heavens and the Earth. The next few verses tell of a change that the earth went through. These verses cover an untold number of years. I can't recall the scripture verse but the writer says he beheld Satans fall from Heaven like a burning light (meteorite?). What is the current theory of the destruction of the dinosaurs?
I would tell you to call the pastor of an independent Baptist church and ask him this question. He would be glad to answer it for you.

At least, it will have to give you the best chance to weigh things between the two. Definitely you are not stupid. You are just somewhere wanting to find which is the best choice for you to pick believing in. Both sides have their points and flaws. No one has the right to judge you for not being in any but sooner or later in your life there is a need for you to choose what you think is right for you. In fact, it is much wiser if you could find that there really is no contradiction between the two. Only many people find it hard to believe that both carry a certain truth. the word "fusion" has been discovered already. A time will come when this two will find its way for all to experience.

Since evolution is a scientific theory, it is therefore subjected to all the verification required by any scientific theory. You, by being skeptical about the flaws, are simply engaging with the scientific process of evaluating the theory.

Albeit, many claim to disbelieve "God", they have already been seeded with the idea of "God" in their minds and could not resolve conflicts caused by their disbelief -- especially when dealing with believers. Such conflict is IMO not necessary simply because choosing blindly is not wise at all.

Being wise accepts the fact that one may appear more stupid to others. Which one are you?

Each time man contemplates the theory of evolution and the existence of God it seems that some are converted to the other side. While many call themselves non-believers, it is also true that it is the nature of the masses to believe in something, because to not have something to believe in would be infinitely worse. no. my dear friend it does not make you an island, just one of many who,in their youth, test the wisdom of their elders, which is how mankind has progressed out of the dark ages.

Jon Donne by kenning the island gave the island existence, it perhaps didn't exists til then.
but about the existence of God, If you don't question it you will never find it , what the Regen's say, are only imagination of very primitive brain of human being, and the must strong believer have up and Mal questioned it.

Lets put one thing straight first.
PURE Science and PURE Religion do not contradict each other
Evolution is a Scientific THEORY it is NOT Pure Science.
God has Created Rules and follows them.
God is Logical he does not contradict himself.
There is only ONE True Religion.

Evolution is a theory that all living creatures evolved from some a common evolutionary ancestor.
Evolution also states that this creature evolved from rocks and rain. the reverse steps are
animals and plants - single celled organism - prehistoric cell and mitocondria and chloroplasts - ooze that contains building blocks of life - rocks and acid rain - lava and gases from volcanoes.
that is what unpure-science claims you evolved from
Evolutionary Theory also is missing too many pieces to make a detailed map or picture. like making a puzzle with only 0.1% to 1% of the pieces. doesn't work period.

and since religion gives the only other alternative i'll have to go with the belief that we ARE created by God.
after all how does a quatinary biological programing language (DNA) that works actually come into existance by accident.
there is too much order in the universe for it to have just happened.

its a hard thing to decide, but maybe you need to find out more about both and maybe some other theories and religions. perhaps something else fits you more and it just makes sense to you. its ok to question the things put before us, thats the only way you'll ever find your way...in the end its all up to you and noone can tell you that you're right or wrong...just have faith in yourself
