I have 7 week old puppies. The have been very healthy and then I noticed a flakiness on their skin. Very fine almost like dandruff. At first I thought it was sand, then, at closer look I saw tiny white bugs. The bugs had a bulb of a body that was white or transluscent and then a small brown area...the body I guess. I have never seen a bug like this before. These white bugs cluster around the ears and folds and are horrible to comb out...like combing out lice. There are also eggs that are much bigger than lice eggs or flea eggs. Can anyone tell me what these bugs are. I would hate to bring something into my home that could affect our upholstry, or children, or cause the puppies any sickness.

Sounds like you have sarcoptic mange mites...totally normal. It's just that the puppies have an over abundance of the mites. You need to get the puppies to a vet to confirm this however. It could also be demodex mange....soooo not good. Either way, get the puppies to a vet ASAP

mmm wow you are having a heck of a time =/ well it dose sound like it is some sort of intestinal parasite. most likely tape worms. might help if we had pics. BUT i do not see why if the fecal exam showed nothing and he still gave the dog a de-worming shot ?? i'd go to a different vet, explain what is going on and say you want a 2nd opinion on the matter. i don't know how much credibility i would give this vet you've been going to. go with your gut instinct and dont give up untill the lil white things are no longer crawling all over your dog, your house etc =] hope this helped.

they sound like crab lice!!!! They are bigger and easier to see than regular lice or fleas
I would get to the vet with these puppies because it's hard to treat puppies at home. Easiest thing and safer than a home diagnosis or a home treatment.

its time to give the puppies a thorough check-up and bath. theyre fleas. try to keep your kids from petting or going near the puppies while they r still infested because then kids will start becoming allergic. if its possible they have fleas, and they itch, and they will be given this type of cone-shaped collar that goes around their head. be sure to wash anything that the puppies have rubbed, licked, or stood near.

They are lice!! The flakiness is dry skin, and you should make them drink more water. Go to your local vet and buy Frontline plus. I buy that for my dogs and it works well!!

This should help!!!!

I would have to recommend looking it up on the internet as I have never heard of this either.....MOST SIMPLY WOULD BE TO TAKE A PUPPY TO THE VET AND LET HER DETERMINE THE IT AS THEY COULD BE DANGEROUS TO YOUR PUPPIES.

They might be mites that cause mange. Call your vet to make sure.
