Wouldn't we miss the people we love still on earth? And if we're not sad, or for that matter, if we can't feel any of the better human emotions that would be "outlawed" in heaven, then we must no longer be human. And who wants to live forever--human or not?

It does sound frightfully boring, and it did to me when I was a boy. Tom Sawyer, in novels, told his aunt that he didn't want to sit on a cloud playing a harp forever. I never did either. Some people do say all they want to do is sing God's praises forever. They are simpleminded, but even they would become tired of that if it continued forever. Pleasure is a sin, so I don't want such a place for a minute, let alone forever. The Moslems have a much better idea with 72 houris for each male martyr. I advise people to beware of campaign promises. The Bible may say heaven is such a great place, but it may not live up to the promises...if it exists. Luckily for all of us it is just a fantasy. What a terrifying thought it is to be stuck in one of two hells forever. A god who'd do that to people who didn't ask to be born is savage beyond comprehension.

If you are a Christian and you go to heaven, you will first be so happy to see Jesus that you won't be thinking a lot right away about your loved ones down here. And your loved ones will be there with you soon if they are believers. YOu have to remember, the bible teaches you will have a brand new mind and body. Your capacities will be a zillion percent greater than down here. Life will be on the new earth eventually and there will be so many things to do and we will have positions and duties, etc. We won't be sitting around on a cloud. God made us and he knows how to make us happy. And who wants to be sad. I don't - have had enough sadness down here to last forever. And if you have a brand new body that doesn't get tired or hungry or sick, you will love living forever.
The alternative - we will live forever either way - whether heaven or hell so..... who wants to be in hell forever. I vote for heaven. Of course, if one is not a Christian, they won't like heaven very much because we will be praising God constantly and singing, etc. As they say, if you can't do it here, you definitely won't want to do it there.

You are not in heaven now so how could you possibly tell if you would be bored?

We call it heaven, psychic's call it "the other side", do you remember how it felt to be a spirit? I don't so I have no idea but man has always contemplated what occurs after death.

Time as we know it is different there, so still I believe in the after life and it helps us accept the loss of a loved one here on earth to know that they have moved on from suffering to a better place, if only for the sake of our comfort I'm choosing to believe.

I cannot understand why people think that heaven is going to be this boring place. Jesus likens it to a wedding feast. It's going to be a great time!

"But as it is written, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him." (I Corinthians 2:9)

We cannot even begin to imagine how great it is going to be. It is a place where the Fall of Man has no power. It is a place of perfection: "See, the tabernacle of God is among humans! He will make his home with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won't be death anymore. There won't be any grief, crying, or pain, because the first things have disappeared." The one sitting on the throne said, "See, I am making all things new!" He said, "Write this: 'These words are trustworthy and true.'" (Revelation 21:3-5)

Any thoughts of it being a boring, emotionless place is selling it very short.

No, Heaven will not be boring....Seeing and talking to God.... Singing! Rejoicing! No more Tears! No more sickness! No more terrorist! No more hatred! Streets of Gold! Sitting down and visiting with my family, the disciples,
Moses, King David, Paul.... oh my! How could that be boring?

You are going to live forever...somewhere! The alternative doesn't sound very good!

Apparently, being in heaven will consist of "nothing but happiness". Can you even imagine what that would actually mean? I think it would be comparable to a heroin overdose, that goes on and on and on and on and ...

Seriously, could hell be any worse?

The singing, rejoicing, visiting with dead relatives, etc sounds like it could be fun for at most a couple of lifetimes. You're supposed to keep on singing and rejoicing FOR EVER. You don't think that after a few thousand years you'd start to wonder what the hell you were rejoicing about?

Heaven for the Christian will be a place of glorious life that will never end. Joy inexpressible, limitless peace, pure love, beauty beyond description—that's what heaven is. Greatest of all will be the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with whom we will enjoy fellowship forever. Loved ones who have known and loved the Lord will be there. Revelation 21:2 says, "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

Heaven will be a place in which its inhabitants will be freed from the fears and insecurities that plague and haunt us in the present life. No energy crisis there ... Free from the economic and financial pressures that burden us down here. Free from the fear of personal and physical harm ... No fear of personal failure ... Our relationship with Him will be intimate and direct. I'm looking forward to that glorious day of going to heaven.

"Heaven will be what we have always longed for. It will be the new social order that men dream of. All the things that have made earth unlovely and tragic will be absent in heaven. There will be no night, no death, no disease, no sorrow, no tears, no ignorance, no disappointment, no war. It will be filled with happiness, worship, love, perfection and other good qualities. Heaven will be a place to challenge the creative genius of the unfettered mind of redeemed man." Revelation 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

However, the Bible makes clear that there is only one way to heaven, and that is through repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way ..." (John 14:6). Jesus paid for our sins through His death on the cross. God offers us the free gift of friendship with Him in this life and eternal life in heaven when we die if we will but turn from sin and trust in Jesus as our Savior and Lord. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved ..." (Acts 16:30).

At first, it would be great. PARADISE! But after a while, you'd get sick of it. After you've done everything, you would spend the rest of eternity in a state of comatose BOREDOM. Not to mention, oyu can't eat too much (gluttony), even THINK about having sex (lust), and not being able to do anything slightly violent (wrath). Oy.

don't so simple. I don't believe in heaven really, but that has to be the most ridiculous, twilight zone version of heaven ever. athiests are better off indifferent. think about something that matters for a change.
