I am fat, frusterated, and broke. The cheap foods are the unhealthy ones... or so it seems. I've eaten junky all my life. Can anyone help me plan *healthy* meals for a month using only$250- $300 tops? Or, know of a good book that will help?

Okay...my suggestion is that you go to the grocery store and buy products that fit the South Beach Diet. I love this diet because I am a carbohydrate addict, and if you have been eating junk food for a long time, my guess is that you have an appreciation for carbs too! So, the majority of the foods you will buy will be frozen, but they are delicious! They have frozen meals (from SmartOnes,Lean Cuisine, and Lean Gourmet--these aren't made by Kraft who does the South Beach Diet, but are just as good) that are great. Lasagna, pizza, vegetable penne, rice pilaf, chicken dishes, on and on. So, really what you are looking for are meals that will be around 240-500 calories, but more around the 350 area. These are great, trust me! And they are cheap. Like 2 bucks. Okay, for snacks, go in the snack isle and find things that have the South Beach Diet logo on it--mainly Kraft products. They have cereal bars, crackers, all kinds of things. This diet is great. I hope you look into it, and if you deicde to do it, are successful! Good luck!

You would save tons of money if you buy foods at the supermarket. However, they have to be foods cooked at home, not foods that are frozen. Like for example, you can eat, rice and chicken, baked potatoes (without any creams on top of them), buy cereals that are natural like whole grains, cornflakes, and stuff like that. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Eat normally, but eat healthy. You dont have to eat less to lose weight. As long as you eat properly and do exercise (very important) you should be fine
