Why has the word "take" almost disappeared from English...as in, " I will bring you to the doctor."

It hasn't disappeared in my neighborhood. People take each other to the doctor and everywhere else all the time. I wonder what the linguistic background is of the people you're hearing.

It hasn't disappeared. It seems to be a North American thing. Where I come from (South Africa) and in England, people still say 'take'.
