If they are not overtaking anything they should but I get really annoyed when I am overtaking a load of lorries and Mr 'I've got a flash BM or Merc' sits right up your @rse. I mean where am I supposed to go? If someone is bombing down said motorway at a 100 they have to appreciate that they are going to come up behind a car that is actually going the speed it should be and have to wait until it has overtaken the vehicles it wants cos it was there first!
PS I do not sit in outside lanes, only go in them when I need to overtake by the way!

How infuriating is this? But why don't the Police / Highway Authorities educate people? If drivers had the error of their ways pointed out to them the roads would be so much easier and safer to drive on. And the traffic would flow so much better. Ah, but, if the traffic flowed better there wouldn't be such an imminent need for more road tolls... and traffic issues these days seem more about making money than anything else...

The reason that people will sit in the outside lane of a motorway oblivious to traffic behind them is that they are blisfully unaware that the outside lane is for overtaking ONLY. They believe that because they are traveling at the speed limit of 70mph they have every right to remain in that lane.
The reason that people will sit in the middle lane is that they believe that only trucks and caravans should be in the inside lane and that if anyone wanted to overtake them then they can pass them in the outside lane.
Personally I always move to the innermost lane if it is clear. And unlike 95% of the UK road users, if I'm going to change lane I INDICATE! EVERY TIME! EVEN IF I CAN'T SEE ANYONE BEHIND ME! It's not too difficult and it's a good habit to get into.

My wife was driving along the motorway, and knitting at the same time, minding her own business when suddenly traffic cops drew alongside and shouted to her "pull over"......she shouted back, "no, it's a cardigan"

It's illegal to stop on a motorway unless you have an emergency or are stuck in traffic.

Sheer bloody pig-headedness, selfishness and ignorance. Same goes for not signalling, particularly at a 3-way roundabout where you can only be going left or right and therefore slow traffic down by making people wait for you unnecessarily.

Police stopped behind our car because we pull over. they did ask if our car is broken but it's just our little one wanted a wee ... they explained that cars are doing something around 100 mph and if we want to join them it will be not enough space for us to get to that speed. and they urgently send us on the road again

Well, if you're an idiot who is speeding, and you expect other people to get out of your way, then I hope the police will pull YOU over. Speeding and aggressive driving are illegal, stupid, and dangerous.
