Your mistaken. I would wager most of them don't even know about Monty Python much less care about Life of Brian.
By the way, I love Monty Python.

The Christianity community in the UK thought it was blasphemy when it first aired there. A discussion was set up with leaders of the Church and Mike Palin and John Clease. It was a hoot. Monty Python 1 Church of England 0. BTW they most probably get upset because it is blasphemous.

those complaints are all made by people who haven't seen the film, just heard that its got some religious undertones as well as some jokes, so it must be blasphemous. If they actually watched it they'd know that it's not about the messiah, just a very naughty boy.. You always get things like that, i read a review of the lion the witch and the wardrobe which said it was anti-christian despite C.S. Lewis saying that it is about god

some people have no sense of humor, bible beaters have none at all. Watch what you like to watch and enjoy. The rest can just turn it off and quit preaching about it. Religious zealots only bring more attention to an issue by making a big stink about it. I bet your question has prompted those who have never seen the movie to run out to blockbuster and get it.

There is always a confusion created between understanding what is art for art's sake and what is indecent and blasphemous. It normally depends on viewers point. I honestly find the show artful, funny and entertaining. I only feel sorry about people who saw it otherwise but I respect them for how they see it. Just as long as that they do not do anything harsh or injurious to people who enjoyed it.

I'm catholic and I don't think it's blasphemy, it is the funniest film ever. I don't like the over-religous, they annoy me. By the way, I have no problem with it, but it is pretty obvious it parodies the life of jesus, but I think it's just harmless fun.

ps. it does NOT parody the life of jesus it parodies the life of brian who was mistaken for jesus anyone who has seen this knows to the person who said that

They don't get it.
To be fair, if they were clever enough to appreciate the humour they wouldn't be reactionary bible belt bigots in the first place.
The smart Christians I know enjoyed it.

religion cannot withstand mockery. Humour is the most harmful thing to religion. That is why for most of recorded history blashphemy has resulted in grave consequences for the blasphemer.
NOTE: its never god who kills blasphemers - just humans. It seems god is not as sensitive to blasphemy as the god botherers are

Because certain types of people who firmly believe in anything can't take the joke or any jokes about their particular belief/obsession.
