well i m just saying how does that work?

i heard people saying your body balances itself, like if you lose some weight, every area on your body will become a bit less fat

i m doing weight-lifting for 2 weeks now (still a dummy), and i m trying to balance my thigh and belly fat, cuz thats the only two places i think i have excessive amount of fat.

doing all the crunches and lifting doesnt seem helping, or do i have to do it for a really really really long time to see some results?

In a way, what you heard is correct; a calorie is a calorie. But, if your body burns 250 calories per day, your body will take that calorie from the first available source: Sugar and food. It won't burn body fat until it has to. Make sure you are addressing your diet.

One of the interesting (or more likely frustrating) things about losing fat is that the first place you lose it is in the last place you put it on.

If you are truly dedicated to working out 3 x's per week, you should see results in about 5 to 6 weeks.

Hang in there.

Yeah, reality stinks, but it takes time to see results. 2 weeks isn't even your conditioning time. You need at least 2-3 months to see results. Be patient, but don't give up! The biggest thing about working out and lifting is devotion and sticking to it. That's a lot of peoples' problem. They will start a diet, or start going to the gym, and expect to look like a movie star in a couple days. If they would just tough it out and stick with it, they would not only have results, but a great feeling of accomplishment. So, I know you're looking at lifting as taking a long time to see some results, but keep doing it.

unfortunately there is no way to regulate exactly where a person will lose fat from. You have to lose fat all over.
