A recent survey asked nearly 8,000 students, at 48 different colleges, what they considered to be "very important." The study, conducted by scientists from John Hopkins University, reported that 16 percent of the students answered that "making a lot of money" was most important to them. However, 75 percent said that their first goal was to "find a purpose and meaning to my life."

In his book, The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren describes a survey conducted by Dr. Hugh Moorhead, philosophy professor at Northeastern Illinois University. Moorhead wrote to 250 famous philosophers, scientists, writers and intellectuals, asking a simple question, "What is the meaning of life?"

Some offered their best guesses; others admitted they just made up a response; still others honestly admitted they were clueless. Several of the intellectuals even asked Moorhead to write back and tell them if he had discovered the real meaning of life.

Psychologist Carl Jung, in his book, Modern Man in Search of a Soul, wrote, "About a third of my cases are suffering from no clinically definable neurosis, but from the senselessness and emptiness of their lives. This can best be described as the general neurosis of our time." [2]

One of mankind's common denominators is that he has, and will always search for the real meaning of his existence. Every person wanders if their life will count for something; yet, every person wants their life to count for something. While man works to make a living, deep down he wants to make a life.

That is the theme of the book of Ecclesiastes. It is book filled with the search for satisfaction. The content of the book of priceless and the context of the book is timeless. Solomon wondered, as we all wonder at times, is life really worth living.

A Jewish writer once described life as "a blister on top of a tumor, and a boil on top of that." The American poet, Carl Sandburg, compared life to "an onion; you peel if off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep." British playwright, George Bernard Shaw, said that life was "a series of inspired follies."

The book of Ecclesiastes reminds us that, without God, people will always be looking for life in all the wrong places. The only way a person can find purpose, meaning and satisfaction for life is by looking to God, learning from God and living for God. Otherwise, again, we will be looking for the meaning of life in all the wrong places.

Ezekiel 38:16 And you will be bound to come up against my people Israel, like clouds to cover the land. In the final part of the days it will occur, and I shall certainly bring you against my land, for the purpose that he nations may know me when I sanctify myself in you before their eyes, O Gog.

Matthew 6:9 Our Father, in the heavens, let your name be sanctified..

Zechariah 5:9 Then I raised my eyes and saw and here there were two women coming forth, and wind was in their wings. And..And they gradually raised the ephah up between the earth and the heavens.

there are 2 types of life-abundant life and everlasting life.abundant life is the life of no lack. This is the life a person lives where all is sufficient for you.The bible promises that we will lack no good thing, therefore, abundant life is a life of prosperity, happiness, peace, and longlife.
The second is the life one enjoys after one's death and ascension into heaven. There, one lives forever and enjoys abundant life.
