If you want to show people the errors of Satanism, first point out it is a sham. For instance, Anton LaVey was not the great sorcer/philosoper his followers (and ironically even many of his critics) make him out to be. He was in fact, a bankrupt, lying, wife beating, pimp. His books prescribe many rituals which the avaerage person would find pychotic, such as:
Nude girl is used as an altar (Satanic Bible, Satanic Rituals)
A human skull is used in Die Elektrischen Vorspiele ritual (Satanic Rituals, p. 109)
Human leg bone or arm bone is used in Homage to Tchort ritual (Satanic Rituals p.137)
Woman dressed as nun urinates before group into a bedpan in the Black Mass ritual (Satanic Rituals p.43)
Urine is then sprinkled like holy water (Satanic Rituals p.44)
Man climbs into coffin with nude woman (or nude man if he is gay) in Le Epais ritual (Satanic Rituals, p.59).
LaVey admits to "canibal feast" of a girls amputated leg in Satan Wants You, The Church of Satan, and The Secret Life of a Satanist.
Now, does LaVey sound like a "junkyard philosopher", or just insane?

Why worship Satan? He lost. There have always been a few power mad whacko's that followed him. Now is no different.
I think you are confusing the recent surge in interest about the early Church, and how much of the teachings are inconsistant with what we have been given in the 20trh Century. If that is your concern, be afraid, because the Bible has been heavily edited and tampered with over the last two milenia, and a lot of people are going back to what was said and done at the beginning.
Sorry, but most of what the church teaches today is literalist, manipulative propaganda. Start asking questions.
