Here are a few points to consider on this question.
If a person is considering this because the boss is actually making the employee feel that it is the only way he/she can advance, this is sexual harassment and against the law. If this is the case, the employee has the right to file a complaint , and the company will take action and investigate.
If an employee feels that this is the only way they can move up the ladder on a personal level ... than the employee is not only compromising their own integrity , but even the integrity of the company.
The only way to excel in the workplace,& feel accomplished, is to do it with principals, and solid work ethics.

At best its a temporary fix...as soon as you do that you give your boss even more power than he already has..he can ruin you just as easily as he can promote you and once your professional reputation is gone you are done for. Unless the boss is married, and she is very devious and takes pictures or makes tapes. If thats what you need to do to get ahead I think you would be better off finding something you are actually good at or just become a paid escort and trade sex for money as a job.

No, because you could be left with the feeling that you didn't get the job on your own merits.
Secondly, it could jeopardize the relation you're having now.
Thirdly as pointed out before, if your boss found out, you only did it to get the job, the whole thing could backfire.
In case your boss is asking him to sleep with him in order to get promotion that's sexual harassment where I come from. I would report this if I were in your situation!

depending on what kind of person you want to become is the answer this one do you want to work hard and know that you earned your way to a higher job or do you want to sleep with him and regret it because you feel like less of a person i am only 21 years old but i believe that you should work your way up not sleep your way up. having an affair with your boss might hurt others as well and a little hard work and patience never hurt anyone

you could do it, but then you might just be starting a trend. when would it end? it's really a personally question about you and what you value. Is something valuable because of how hard you have to work for it or is it valuable because of what you get out of it. do the ends justify the means. how you answer questions like those should help you find your answer. good luck with whatever you choose

Trust, it will not do wonders for you. Do some work and stop trying to find short cuts to get ahead.

No way! That is the perfect mechanism to make him to loose respect on you.
He can use use you and for sure you both can have fun times. But on the long term... he will get tired so the next one should come to replace you.
Easy girls easy come and easy goes
