I know exactly how you feel. I also live in So. California and am sickened by the fact that everyone speaks Spanish and even most jobs require bilingual speakers. It is soooo sad, we live in America, but in So. Cali it's like little Mexico. Something needs to be done about this. We need to take down all the Spanish signs and start mandating that people learn English when they come to America. I just don't get why you would move to a country and then refuse to speak the language.

We have the same problem in Texas. The problem is not that the Mexicans speak spanish . The Real problem is many prefer to remain mexicans and many of them can speak english but refuse to because of their mexican pride.Case in point I now work in a water well service . I stopped by a man working on the ranch I was to repair a pump on. After I asked for directions to the well this individual replys "meee noo speeky eengieish"
At this I say wet-back go home. He makes a angry face but replys the same.
At this answer I pull my pistol thumbcock it and reply Oscar I went to school with you Why do you want to be just another F---ing meskin. At this he starts talking english real good. And no he was not playing he did not know who I was . For after my accident two years ago my own Mamma did not recoginise me.
Also other than the few who are here illegally the rest have gone to school and should be able to speak some english especially all second generation Spanish speakers.

That's a damn shame! I'd move. Your town is soon going to become a genetic cesspool, and there is no stopping it unless something is done with the immigration debate. (Which is out of your control as an individual. Group effort is needed, and you are probably not going to find much support there.)

I'd SUGGEST that you find a neighborhood near the border where many border patrol agents live and that your wife goes into midwifery. (She should be able to find work then! XD Most people there probably have- or are having- nine or ten kids.) However, moving out of California is probably your best option- there are shortages of nurses in most other places.

This is in due cause from a specific radical belief called Liberalism. In towns such as your's, you must speak the dominant language in that area in order to perform in any job. Ironically, America does not have a specified Dominant language. (Germany is Deuscth, Russia is Cyrillic, etc...) America is the boiling pot of the world, there are over 300 different languages spoken in America, yes, 300. No matter where you go pal, you have to be bilingual in some way. And it's discrimination that she can't have a job for not knowing a second language.

Mexico is in North America also, but I understand your point and it is disgusting that they don't speak English I have always been criticized for my beliefs but if you reside in the United States of America and you are in public you must speak English period end of discussion. If you only wanted to speak Spanish stay home or go back to Mexico, Central America or South America or where you came from that you only speak Spanish. Another thing if these people will not, cannot speak English hire an interpreter have some dignity and respect for your race, do not embarrass us any further.

Spending time to learn Spanish or moving to state where it Snow all over in feet easy call. With electronic English to Spanish devices on market shouldn't be that hard. Imagine living in Quebec where you'd be looking at three.

That is disgusting and it is discrimination against you. It is anti-American.... Spanish does not belong in America... except as a traveling language.... Spanish should NOT be spoken in the USA for everyday operations... IT is such an outdated language....

Spanish is not a very useful language.... once people who speak Spanish learn English, and learn to speak it well, they prefer it over spanish..... they say spanish makes it harder to convey ideas to one another.... I believe them, things seem jumbled and obscure when described in spanish. Perhaps Mexico would not be so corrupt and backwards if English were the official language there.

English is the language of success.

Press 1 for English. Sucks don't it? They are trying to subvert the country into losing your life style and adopting theirs. That is why it is being called an invasion. 11or 12 million people equals about 50 divisions militarily. Sound like an invasion by a foreign people that has the support of thier government doesn't it?

Well, there's always 'moving' as in 'leave to find someplace where they still speak english'....and there's also the idea of penning a letter to the city council to talk about it...don't know if it'll do any good, but maybe both would be a good idea and wake em up and get their attention...tell em you're moving to find a town that still speaks english...
