It takes about 3 months to get your work Visa after application.

The Fiancee Visa, or the K1 Visa, allows for the fiancee of the American citizen to enter America for a period of 90 days, within which time the marriage must take place for the foreign partner to obtain permanent residency.

To qualify for a K1 Visa you must:

-Be the fiancee of an American citizen;
-Provide evidence the relationship is genuine and lasting; and
-Establish you and your partner have physically met in the 2 years before applying and are intent on getting married.

Once a person with K1 status enters America, they may go to their local USCIS office and immediately obtain a work permit card. Once the marriage is celebrated, the couple must apply for permanent residency with the USCIS and obtain a Spouse Visa.

I hope that helps!

McBrian is right. The K-1 visa is not an immigrant visa, so you will not receive permission to work on entry, the way most immigrants do. You will not get permission to work until you have married and filed for your adjustment of status to legal immigrant/resident. THEN you can apply for a job.

the only and basically requirement of the ok-a million is getting married to the petitioning US citizen considerable different interior of ninety days. it rather is it. there is not any time decrease to record for AoS. None. yet . . . the AoS from a ok-a million leads to a conditional, 2-365 days green Card, yet in case you have been married for 2 years or longer with the help of the time your AoS is adjudicated, you may desire to get a 10-365 days green Card. hence, you mustn't be adjusting based on the I-129F anymore, yet might desire to place up an I-a hundred thirty with your AoS kit. in short, you would be adjusting like somebody who in no way had a ok-a million at the beginning. you will additionally want a clean medical, the I-693. So fairly, you will have not got any difficulty getting your AoS approved. you do not want an lawyer for this.

Potentially the day you arrive in the US - it depends on if immigration gives you permission to work when they stamp your passport upon entry. It is at their discretion, otherwise you must wait to get your work permission after filing proof that you have legally married - which took my wife seven months!

60-90 days after you marry. That is how long it will take for your work permit to take place.
