To be a Christian you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31)
You must endure to the end. (Matthew 10:22, Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13.)
You must accept the Cross (suffering). (Matthew 10:38, Matthew 16:24-25, Mark 8:34, Luke 9:23, Luke 14:27).
You must be baptized with water. (Mark 16:16, John 3:3-5 Titus 3:5, I Peter 3:20-21. )
You must be a member in God's true church. (Acts 2:47).
You must confess your sins. (James 5:16, I John 1:9)
You must keep the Commandments of God. (Matthew 5:19-20, Matthew 7:21)
You must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ. (John 6:51-58, I Corinthians 10:16, I Corinthians 11:23-29)

What a wonderful thing you plan to do! Yes, there are things you will WANT to do as a Christian. I will list some and you will learn even more as you mature in your faith.
First off, since you are changing "masters" and serving God/Christ alone, you will need to change loyalities. Learn all you can about the traits of God and His son, and PUT THEM ON, as if putting on a NEW body or NEW clothings. There are things which you will cease to do because that was the OLD man or the OLD clothing.
You must remember that YOU are what is HOLY, not places, mountains, temples, but God indwells withint YOU now.
You must remember WHY you are reborn as a Christian through baptism, for the sole purpose of glorifying God and shining HIS light by your deeds. You were born for good works.
You must remember your new family. Your Christian family will be more important than anything in this journey.
You should know and act as if you are not attached to this world, being it is temporary and we are all travelers here.
This is a testing ground, study and pass all your tests. God will not put out a stumblingblock, but He will allow you to work things out with trials and troubles.
Satan is the enemy. We all work together to defeat him. He is very slick and sly. He uses worldy ideas and wisdom and tries to apply it to the body of Christ.
If you want more information, please email me off line if you life.

Basics for being a Christian?
Three things will help you grow as a Christian:
1) Read your Bible every day.
Make it part of your routine.
2) Spend some quiet time in prayer. (Prayer is conversation with God, and for some of it you listen and others you talk)
3) Find a good Bible teaching church.
Attend regularly and take advantage of opportunities for fellowshipping with other Christians.

Christians don't "have" to do anything.
If you become a true believer you will WANT to know God better.
A fish swims because it is a fish; Swimming does not cause it to be a fish, it swims because it is a fish.
A Christian loves God and people because he/she is a Christian. A Christian prays because he is a Christian. A Christian worships God because she is Christian. A Christian seeks to live a holy life because he is a Christian.
Jesus said, "It is for freedom that I have set you free."

A Christian is one who follows Christ's teachings and accepts His love and grace for the times that we fall short in following Him. You need to turn your whole heart over to Him, follow His will for your life, and love Him above all else -- including yourself. In the Bible, the books of John and I John and the book of James are all great reading for those who want to know what a Christian should be doing.
Above all, don't compare yourself to other humans as they live out their Christian lives. If you find a hard teaching in the Bible, but don't see others following it, don't assume it's ok to ignore it because others are. Let God -- Father, Son, and Spirit -- personally lead you to follow as He calls YOU to do.
You can also ask your pastor or a leader in your church to tell you. When he or she does, please ask him or her for scripture references (addresses) so you can read it for yourself, too. That way, you know you're getting the truth, not someone's own ideas of what's "good."

Well, how about stop killing innocent men, women and children. Christianity and Islam like to kill their fellow human beings.
I know there are many nice people who believe in God, but the real evil amongst us, are the vast majority of religious followers and believers who have clearly shown over time to be the major instigators of wars, violence, abuse, greed and practically everything evil on our planet.
Even according to Genesis in the Bible, God is clearly the greatest mass murderer in history. The Bible is full of terrible atrocities and evil, far more than nice things, but of course believers will just ignore or twist the atrocities into whatever soothes their confused minds.

In order to be a christian, one has to put God in his daily life. One has to lead a life according to God's teachings in the Bible. It's not enough to state I'm a Christian. One has to practice the life of a christian. And there's a moral duty to spread the word of God. Here again, practice what you preach.

First, get a good Bible, KJV or Interlinear by Green. Then STUDY God, Holy Spirit/Ghost, Micheal/Jesus, the Sanctuary, God's commandments both OT and NT. these are some of the things that you will want to know very well and only by studying them will you be prepared to hold off Satan' attacks.

The main thing is that we are supposed to treat our neighbors as we would like to be treated. We should be helping the rest of the world much more than we are. We should be focused on such problems as drought and starvation, AIDs and orphans, medical care for the poor, education in impoverished nations.
