You are leaving which country to live in which country? That might make a difference. For example, it might be easier between British Commonwealth countries, but I think you might have to build up a new credit rating in your new country. It could take a while. You might have to start by buying a vehicle for example, and paying that off. I couldn't find any information about an "international" understanding in terms of credit ratings.

We migrated with a perfect credit rating and a paid mortgage and car loan....Our credit rating in the new country was zero. We were sponsored by our employer who did take a look at our credit rating and based on that he co-signed a car loan...so we were very lucky. After paying off the car loan we applied for a mortgage and used our documentation of excellent credit from our country of origin, as a reference, and it helped to persuade the bank official. The bank relied most heavily on the car loan and the fact that we paid our rent on time. If you don't have a generous sponser like we did then the best way to start out is with a credit card. Apply immediately after starting employment. It is easy to get a credit card, in most English speaking countries. Bring all your documentation regarding your loan with you, and it could be very influential with the bank. Even though you start out with a zero credit rating...the rating you have now does have merit. Also in transferring your money ...you should ask the bank manager about this...because it depends on how much...if you only had a couple of hundred dollars..then travellers checks...if you have a million++..then the bank need to be involved. Good luck
