I often hear of couples having date nights... either once a week or month or what ever works... I am interested to know what YOU do on your date night(s), if anything, and how it helps your relationship. Many thanks (in advance) for your insight.

I have been re-married for 15 months. We have my 10 y/o son living with us and his dad lives out of state. We have date night once or twice a month. It's nice to go out and rekindle what we did when we dated. We don't talk about kids or work we talk about us and life and the future. I think it is a great way to keep the sparks going.

Sometimes its just dinner, sometimes a sporting event, we have gone to a bar and drank and danced like we just met. I don't think the "what" you do is an important as the fact that you "do" it. Explore and have fun!

Date nights are very important! It's time set aside that is devoted only to the couple. A couple of times a month is good, more often if possible.

A date night can consist of going out for dinner or going to see a movie. Anything that you both agree on and enjoy. The whole idea of a date night is to allow the couple some alone time, with out the kids. Or, if there are no kids, a date night can help keep you from getting stuck in a rut...coming home, making dinner, going to bed and then doing it all over again the next day.

Date nights are very necessary for couples. It gives the two of you to have time alone, and connect without any other people around.
It lets you guys get to know each other better, even if you are married.
