You can keep anything you want, but it won't be very helpful unless you record information that you can use later to learn what works and what doesn't work. Try recording as much detail as possible about the foods you eat, including (if possible) their calories and grams of carbohydrates. If your diet isn't working, try cutting back on calories and carbs. And, whatever you do, drink lots of water, or you can get badly dehydrated, which can be life-threatening.

What you ate, how much you ate, and when. It's also important to include how the food was cooked, i.e. instead of just saying six ounces of chicken, you would want to write six ounces of grilled chicken, or six ounces of fried chicken. How a food is cooked can change the nutritional content dramatically.
