Why is it that we only turn to God or pray to Him when we are in need or wants him to answer our prayers. You are in the depths of depression. Just remember that this cup of suffering - this too, shall pass. . And even if you feel that God has abandon you, he's always there.

God is the Being Who knows past, present, and future simultaneously. Even though I may want something very badly and see no harm in having it now, God may know better. His timing is always better than my timing because His perspective is superior; He is not existing in my linear dimension of time. Oftentimes, He is not denying my request. Instead, He is saying, "Not just yet."
Another reason God may seem to ignore me, is that I may ask Him for something that is harmful to me. In my limited human view, I may see it as harmless or beneficial. But God's ways are far above my ways. I have to have faith that God loves me and has my best interests in mind. Maybe I want pleasure, for example, but God wants me to develop patience and wisdom. Eventually I realize that in the long run, patience is better than momentary pleasure (although there's also a lot of joy in following God's path).
I'm sorry about the way you're feeling; I've had some very hard times too. I think you know that ending it all isn't the answer and that your situation will improve. God is there to give you strength and hope.

Is that what you believe? What you need to do is a little "soul searching" if you will, and find out whether or not you believe in a "god". It sounds to me like you are trying to find out what others believe to come to your own conclusion on what you believe.
Another twist-- Sometimes what we think we need and what we really need are two separate things. When what we really need happens instead of what we think we need, people sometimes choose to have that higher power to blame things on. The problem with this is that if we are going to say that "god" ignores us when we need him (or her), then we also have to blame him (or her) when good things happen and we get what we want, which seldom is the case. If you need someone or something to blame, then blame it on a higher power if it makes you feel better, just don't forget to thank that higher power when life sends you in the direction you want it to go.
