They play hide the salami with it. Stangely enough I just bought a package of bratwurst from Costco today. I plan on grilling mine. I prefer my bratwurst between the buns.

Grilled is the best way to prepare bratwurst or any sausage for that matter. The heat of the blast furnace will sizzle the meat inside the casings and burn off a lot of fat. Jerking bratwurst is great, too, but most sausages don't need help from the extra spice. The only thing a real man will use for "saute" is beer. You can arrange your sausages in a circle on the grill, add chopped green and red peppers, onions, and pour on the beer. This works well on foil.
Real men have tried out a lot of ways to do meat on the grille. Real men shouldn't have a bunch of cookbooks but it is ok to have a barbeque book (or ten) and maybe a Bobby Flay cookbook. The beer sausage recipie came from his "How To Grill" by Steven Raichlen. There aren't any sausage saute recipies in there, by the way.

I think they fry it up with several other assorted meat like substances. There may be potatoes allowed into the equation because they are the only true manly vegetable.
(when I first read this I saw salute instead of saute. I spent about half an hour trying to figure out why any man would salute a bratwurst)

"On Broadway" Based on the performance by Drifters
"On Bratwurst" Parody by John A. Barry
Got Dijon, so I'll take a bite of bratwurst (of bratwurst).
I'll disregard what looks like rodent hair (in bratwurst).
Although I'm chompin' on this treat,
It's nothing but mystery meat.
Better not to ponder what's in this fare (in bratwurst).
I like to grill it for myself, some bratwurst (some bratwurst).
I'm cooking it way up to 2-1-2 (Fahrenheit).
Sometimes it is flavored with thyme.
I eat a lot, so not thin, I'm
Going to dine on nine before I'm through (on bratwurst).
Ha! They say that I won't last too long on bratwurst (on bratwurst).
Old Greyhounds are ground up in it, they all say (in bratwurst).
I need bread and veggies like chard
And workouts, so muscles get hard.
I need more starch and much less lard and bratwurst (and bratwurst).
I will start baking, yeah (some bread, first).
I'll get a big, big pan (bread won't burst).
Turn on the oven light (burns bright fast).
When it's ready, when it's ready, it's so toasty, yes (for breakfast).
Then I sneak bratwurst (sneak bratwurst).
Ohhhhhhhh yeah! (Love bratwurst!)
So yeah i guess No is my answer i think.

Brats are best when grilled, but I suppose you can fry or jerk just about anything

If you are taking brats to a picnic where you want them prepared quickly it is permisible to simmer your brauts in beer and onions until just done and then brown them on your fire when you arive at the picnic, otherwise grill them on a low fire so they cook on the inside without incenerating the outside

I agree with Einstein, the real German way is to put them into a frying pan with grease. Only way!
And Ragdoll......I am sure many women out there actually do salute their bratwurst.....lol

I love a man who is not afraid of a little jerk on the brat. I have never quite figured out exactly how much jerk is good and when it is too much.

Funny you should ask...
I had Bratwurst a couple of days ago,and it is a sin to jerk those weiners..They will explode and will squirt all their juices..wich makes for a pretty dried up shriveld Wurst.
To truly make them like them thar old Krauts in Germany you fry them...in a pan...with grease...
But whatever you do...never never sautee them brats....**shudders**
