Been on both cruises: both ships offer half-court basketball courts that are also used for other sports activities like paddle tennis, soccer and volleyball. I think the food's better on the Princess, but activities wise RC wins hands down. It has the awesome wall to climb on! The people on board vary depending on the destinations itself. Alaska, Carribean and Mediteranean destinations are usually younger, and the more specific and more expensive ones tend to be packed with the older crowd. Service is better on the Princess too, I thought the RC staff were a little snottish cause they don't really like to deal with the younger crowds.

i actually used to work for that company. as far as the basketball court, i believe there is a half court. as far as the ship itself it's awesome. it definetly blows away carnival. i'm not to savvy on r/c though. i've never been on a r/c ship, but i heard they're comparible. and yes, princess does have a lot of older ppl, but it also depends on the destination and the time of year. if you go to the carribbean or mexican riviera, you will get a mix of people. and if you go during high peak season like summer or easter break, you'll get younger people. don't worry though, the cruise co. capicity controlls how many children are allowed on the cruise so the ship is never overrun with children. but if you go to say alaska or canada/new england, you get a lot of old people. i've been on a few cruises, and i actually don't mind the older people, because that just means that they go to bed early and the jacuzzi, casino and bars aren't so crowded. and whatever young people there are on the ship are all at the club everynight. in other words, even if you have alot of old people, your cruise is what you make of it.
