Muslim religion is one and one only which teaches that there is only one God or Allah who is the Creator of the entire universe and everything contained in it ( every religion including Hinduism says so). Muslims must follow the teachings of holy Quran in all the activities of their life. Opportunists and people with selfish minds have divided it into many sects and sub-sects to exercise their authority (as in case of other religions too). Islam never teaches what many muslims are doing today. It is, therefore, futile to involve ourselves in confusion and follow what our conscience as it dictates us without forgetting that He is constantly watching us and we shall have to face His judgement one day!

This question is wonderful.
Deobandi getting married to Bareilly
no longer remains a Muslim anymore.
This was shown on Sahara TV yesterday.
Maulavis were fighting on the TV. Several
Maulavis were having 360 U turn opinions
about who remains to be a Muslim after
marriage. The fight was absolutely
disgusting for the viewers. Some said
photography is not allowed, and one Maulavi
had a passport without his photograph,
while all the other Muslims had photos
on their Passport and ration cards, voters'
card. Interests etc., etc.
The problem is neither they follow Iran,
Saudi Arab or Pak form of Shariat. They
have at least 5 crore Ulemas having
devided opinion in India. Every 2 nd
Muslim in India is a Ulema, growing a beard
and putting a cap on head, and wearing white
clothes. Unfortunately, 98% of the population
(Musim)remains to be uneducated and the
Maulavis misuse and misguide the innocents.
Raise this question again after 2 weeks,
you will find 10 Ulemas, answering your
question, in diofferent ways. Here you have
at least 5 ulemas to answer your question.

Anyone who says La ILaha ILLALLAH, Muhammadan Rasoolallah with his mouth is a Muslim. It is not our job to question people's belief or try to pry. The Prophet has said that we should think the best of everyone. If someone does wrong, you may try to guide them in private, but not insult them or be unkind to them.
Heck, the Prophet was good to many nonMuslims. The Quran tells you to be kind even to polytheists who have not abused you or joined hands with those who have abused you. Ultimately todays kafir is tomorrows Muslim or perhaps the great grand parent of a Muslim.
This is my answer to the sectarian divisions. People always want to elevate themselves when they are discussing sects. When in fact the core of Islam is to humble yourself and be kind. Thus the imam in a Masjid is the FIRST ONE to put his forehead on the ground, before others, as he is the Imam in humility!!
All divisions are a ploy of Satan. Let alone the divisions between Bereilvis and Deobandi, I say all Shi'a must follow the Sunnah of the Prophet to be Shi'a of Ali, as Ali was a staunch follower of the Sunnah of the Prophet. As Ali and the Prophet were always in the same party, never against each other at any point, it is also required for the Ahle-Sunnah to be in the party of Ali, as the Prophet never opposed Ali, so anyone who opposes Ali is not following the Sunnah. I hope this delicate point is understood.
Besides, even after all the divisions, the Muslims are united in both the Prophet and Ali as the fourth Caliph or the first Imam, which ever you see it, there is really unity among the Muslims.
So, do not let Satan divide you and be united in Allah, Quran, the Prophet and Ali, so where is the basis of division? Companions did fight among themselves... so there is an opportunity for division there. Who would YOU follow when Ali is fighting with Muwaviah, when Muwaviah became a companion of the Prophet too. Nine hundred companions were killed in the battle of Jamal when Ayesha fought with Ali and Talha and Zubayr companions of the Prophet were against Ali too.
So the only person who everyone agrees on is Ali, after the Prophet. So he is the source of unity for us all, as he was raised by the Prophet since he was ten. AND there is no room for us to fight about sects.
I hope this makes sense and answers your question.

Everything is rubbish.A good Muslim is the one who believes:
1. Humanity first and Islam next
2. Allah does not have religion and he is not a Muslim God but an universal God.
3. Allah does not say that one has to be a Muslim in order to enter Jannath or paradise.
4. In front of Allah all are equal and he will punish those who use the word "Kaafirs".
5. On the day of judgement, all good humanbeings will be protected and rewarded a life in paradise. You need not have to be a Muslim to qualify as a good human.
6.Every humanbeing has the right to pray and attain peace of mind by following their religion of choice. Finally Ishwar or Allah or Jesus are one and the same creator called God.

no one other than the hindu believes in all. The muslim belioeves in Allah only and will pay respect to allah only . The muslim says that ther is sould in the humans only . They do not believe God to be Omnipresent .
The chritians also do not believe that God is Ominipresnt .
Omnipresetn means present everywher without EXCEPTION. This the hindus only do really believe as they think that God is in everythig , evey being animate and inanimate and that becaus of this quality man is never out of the sight of God and God is never out of sight aof man. Theysee God as the life of evry being and that nothing could exist without God . That is why they can worship God in any form and call God by any name . This is not aceptable to the Muslims and the chritians , they have restricted the presence of God to the soul of human beings only . The animals do not have souls accoding to them . Gos also does not exist inany theing else . That is why they kill animals and eat . That iswhy they do not have any forms for God . But chritianity says that god made man on his own image . That seems to be a contradiction . That means tha ttGod was like a human beiong and had a brain and a heart and lungs .God is said to have made man and blew into his nose so as to help him breath .That means God was breathing and God had to berath to live and lived with the aid of air only. So te re are contraditictions in religous princiciple .Some hinus who believe god to be in all cretures also kill animals and and eat flesh. They also do mnot practice what they preach .So man has created all these principles when he did nort know much about what was what . When knowledge had not developed tpo the extent it has today . some people refuse to change according to the times when they have changed a lot in so many things that find convenient for themselves . So they are hypocritical . Chang e is the order of the universe . Beacuse people refuse t change according to the changing times , there is propblemamong the people of various countries . People in thenme of religon have failed to understand that they are essentially humans and have to behave like humans and not like anything worse than animals .What ever be the religion of any man , a man must be humane. If religon compells him to be an animal , it deserves to be given the go by.even if the God himself has personally created the religion.

how do you know it's the right religion?
have you ever felt god? ask him if it's the true religion he will answer you and tell you what is right, you don't need to 'pray' or 'ask' him in a certain language or using certain words
just find some time and close the door of your room and say faithfully, which here means in a very descent way as if you are going to an interview to go to university and ask him say God talk to me tell me what is the right religion and if you see that i'm not good enough for you to talk to, send me the right person who knows you and make him tell me
and i'm not on anyside i'm only saying that the universe was created by a God that is very powerful and he must be up high watching everything

Well it's a very controversial question for the muslim community.
according to me the one who follows the basic tenets of Islam (ie the five pillars of islam) and has believe in Allah, Prophet Muhammed(PBUH) and has faith in Quran then he/she is a true muslim.
We should never go into such discussions as it leads to differences among us and only brings a disrepute to the muslim community.
Hope u get the point
