Allah is the Arabic word for "god" but "god" is also the English word for Allah.
Christians, Muslims, and Jews all worship a GOD- not the same God. Furthermore, the center of religion for these three groups is not so much around their God per se, but around their book of worships, which differes a lot between the three.
Of course, worshipping a different book or having different types of Gods does not mean that we should be fighting each other or not living in peace.

I used to believe the same thing, until I STUDIED. That is when I discovered that the god that muslims worship is not the same God that Jews and Christians are too worship.

Islam goes back to the jewish faith and so does Christianity. They all believe in the same God, though they call God by a different name.
Islam even recognize Jesus as a Holy Prophet.
I beive that All religions who believe in One God are in actuality worshiping the same God. Think about this, If you lived in another part of the world speaking a different language and you call, lets say a pencil, by your language. My language calls it something different. But it still is the same thing.
I know I didn't really clarify that, but I hope you get my understanding, though it's my own personal belief, as I do not intend to say that my belief is better than that of yours or anyone elses.

This is NOT true. That Allah is Arabic for God is true however the religions do NOT worship the same God.
The god of Islam is an archaic Israeli moon god, an old idol from 3,500 years ago. He is vindictive, hateful and not real.
The Jews do NOT believe Jesus is the promised Messiah foretold in the Bible.
Get your facts right.

I do believe that many cultures worship the same God. Different faiths are different doors accessing the same entity.

i think it's true that we all believe in the same god and that there is only one god. however, there are still a million different religions in the world because the values, beliefs, and way of living is different from culture to culture. a muslim person does not pray the same way as a Jewish person. a Catholic person does not pray the same way as a scientologist. a Buddhist person does not pray the same way as a Mormon person. every religion is different.
note: the other people said that they pray to a "different" god. however, i disagree -- i think there is only one god. people do not know what god really looks like. every religion has a belief of what their god looks like but that does not necessarily mean that is what god looks like. GOD is the god every person in this world believes in. it's just that every culture has a different believe of what he (or she) looks like and what he or she acts like.

Basic common sense shows that allah is in no manner, shape or form, God. The two are actually diametrically oppossed. In other words, allah demands his followers do acts of extreme evil while God teaches people to do good.
It really is as simple as that.

That's not true. Yes it means god, but we all do not worship same god. There is a difference between god and God. A god is what you worship not his true name.
