You can be a Buddhist and still believe that Jesus existed. He's a historical figure.
Even the devil "believes" in Jesus.
You can believe that Jesus lived. Or you can "accept" him as Lord and Savior.

The question is who do you love and serve. If you believe in Jesus' message then you should know that He says, "No man can serve two masters." You will be faithful to one and not the other. To follow Jesus you must be faithful to him. People who have accepted Jesus to be their Savior are typically known as Christians.
You can not be a Christian and a Buddhist at the same time.

But you can be a Buddhist and still believe that Jesus lived, taught people and did some pretty unbelievable things. It would be the same as "believing" that there was a man named George Washington that was the president of the United States.

You can straddle the fence on this issue. You believe in one or the other.

Well sure. When the first Christian missionaries went into Buddhist areas, the Buddhists decided they liked this Jesus guy and started calling themselves Christian Buddhists. This works completely, especially if you choose to embrace Buddhism as a philosophy rather than a religion--looked at that way, it's not too different from what Jesus said anyway.

See Buddhism is a way of thought you are not actually worshiping the buddah himself you are believing in his way of thought...and Jesus did leave for a period of time ( i think it was something like 4-6 yrs) And in Buddhist temples their was records of Jesus. So I am actually both... I wear the buddah pendant and the cross around my neck. But I still love/worship Christ...however I do like the message that both send.

Logically inconsistent, but possible. Most people don't think things through for logical consistency. There's no concept of an eternal soul in Buddhism. Even the identity that reincarnates is seen as ultimately impermanent. In fact, the goal of Buddhism is to extinguish this "soul". Nirvana means "No flame." The "soul" which suffers as long as it exists, was likened to a flame which could be put out.

Absolutely! Many Buddhist's do. There are strong similarities between the two teachings and there have been suggestions...though I cannot personally vouch for them...that Jesus may have known of Buddha's teachings.------Best wishes. Philip.

Yes. Unlike as christians claim buddism is not a religion but a way of life for it's beleivers. It's a living in peace with one's self and nauture, where as chriatianity is a religion. Christinaity is the beleive in jesus christ and following his teachings where as buddism is following a principle seeking tio find peace within yo and reach out to others in peace and understanding.

I was reading a book called Labyrinth. It was a fiction book, but was historically accurate, and was describing some French Christians who also believed in the Buddhist ideas of reincarnation, so I think it is very possible to pick and choose. Believe what you wat to believe - nobody should control you in that.
