I would like to know the cost of Damon Braces and Speed Braces for a 1 year treatment (in CAD $ if possible)
Does anyone actually wear them? Are they better then conventional braces? Do you need expanders or head gears?

Damon is just a brand of braces - they are a tool and nothing more - they have done a great job of marketing themselves as something different than "regular" braces, but they aren't - and I have used them extensively. Mechanically, they work slightly different, but the overall concept is the same.

It is kind of like asking "which cameras take better pictures - kodak or canon?" Ultimately, the photographer and the subject of the picture are much more important than the brand of camera even thought there are slight variations between the different brands. Same thing applies to the brand of braces - of course you want to use good tools and materials, but it is the least important factor in orthodontic treatment - the most important factor is a good orthodontist & team and a good patient.

And as for the Speed Braces - same thing - Speed was the 1st brand to use the sam type of system that Damon uses but they have done a poor job of marketing - the only reason you have even heard of them is that you are in Canada - nobody in the US has heard of Speed.

It depends on what is needed.

Check with these folks in the URL, if any one can tell you they can.

Good Luck.
