At the church I used to go to, most of the people believed that people were doing what they were doing because of God's call. This was particularly how they felt about people in the ministry--they were there because God called them to be ministers. Does anyone here believe this?

Yes God calls everyone. Some heed the call ( the saved ones) and others dont (sinners). There is no small and great in God's eyes. Everyone is equally important to God. There is nothing special about this calling its very direct and for everyone. Through the Bible ( Gods Word) God has called us to be witnesses of the word and God will depart His gifts of ministry on us at will to fit His purpose. Its all about God and not about us, friend.

God calls all mankind to come into repentance so as to receive eternal life. Those who answer the call will automatically desire to spread the good news. That is the calling of all born again Christians.

I don't think god would tell you to do anything. You are in control of yourself and he/she wants you to do what you want to do, and thats how you are jugded in the end.....
