It realy depends what what sound you are looking for. I have found that Rockford Fosgate is a great dependable and durable speaker. This brand of speaker can withstain alot you put it through sounding great at the same time. So if you want a speaker that is loud, dependable, durable, and fit for a superb stereo system I would have to advise you to go with Rockford Fosgate and keep in mind for best quality it is a good idea to match the subwoofer to the amp, so if you get a Fosgate sub do yourself a favor and get a Fosgate amp. On ending note please don't be cheap about your seystem. It is well known that a cheap system isn't a good system. I hope I have helped you with your problem.

Dyne Audio are some of the best I have ever worked with. They produce raw speakers for home audio manufacturers that can cost as much as 50 to 100 grand for a pair. But for car audio be prepared to spend something on the order of about 1200 bucks for a good set of 6.5's and tweets. The 6.5's have a 3 inch voice coil and sound amazing.

BOSE does NOT offer aftermarket car stereo products folks, they only install it as a factory OEM option in new vehicles.

If you want to stay under $100 a pair, go with Memphis Audio PR series, Infinity Ref. JBL GTOs, lower end Boston Acoustics are very decent.

If price is no object, definitely consider Morel, CDT, Memphis MC class, MB Quart.. Usually $200-$5000

ok lets get this straight
1.bose is shtty in cars
2. yes jl is very good but they are also VERY overpriced. Also they ARE NOT the best.
3. Audiobahn istn the best either BUT it is your best bang for your buck based on my experience with their subs.
4. Pioneer (what i have) is really good for the price (bass is lacking a bit but i have subs for that and the highs are very crisp and clear).
5. If you can ball that hard go for the mb quart, MMatts, or bostons. High end stuff there
