NO cant say i have but i liked the way your mum did that on your step dad...it's probably little things like that she did that helped her not lose her sanity... I HATE guys who beat women. I think that they should all be castrated & beaten to a pulp.
Thanks
Ray

Working in a posh kitchen in college I watched the head Chef make a flawless medium rare steak...only to have the waiter bring it back, time and time again telling the Chef that the customer didn't think it was medium rare enough. Three times, the Chef tried to make it "right", and three times it came back. On the fourth time, the Chef dropped it to the floor (ever seen the floor of a kitchen during the dinner hour?) stumped on it with his boot, flopped it back onto the plate...and carefully flicked off any obvious bits of debris. The waiter came back later and said the customer really enjoyed it...and was happy that the Chef finally got it "right."

I like Monitorhead's answer! Some people in restaurants complain because they think it makes them "look knowledgeable about food. It reminds me of a what a sailor once told me. When on board ship, if any of the officers, were "not very nice" to the ordinary A/B sailors - the cooks, would spit into gravey, sauces, etc., before serving the Officers their food. Yuk...!

No, but I know of a group of students in a cooking school that put laxatives in a dish at the school cafeteria. They told everyone not to eat from it 'cause they burned it, except for one particular teacher whom they didn't like. Apparently thatteacher was in and out of class all day.

No. That is what's called "passive-agressive behavior," and it's the sort of thing that either out-and-out sneaky cowards or people who feel the need to do something aggressive but cannot face the consequences might do. I believe in facing my enemies, looking them squarely in the eye, and giving 'em the "what for". (Either that, or using an "avoidance tactic," such as just staying away from them, or running away form them, if necessary.)
Now, in your mother's case, she did it in order to appease her own ego somewhat, in such a way that her "enemy" would be unaware of the harm that she intended for him. But other people might sabotage the food at a restaurant if they disliked a particular customer, or just to get back at their employer. I feel that that sort of behavior is despicable and that it's chickensh-t. It's like going, "Neener, neener, neener!" at the bully when his back is turned and he's out of earshot--only it's worse, because it's actually potentially harmful. I feel that there is NO EXCUSE for it, ever.
BTW, did you know that most women who are murderers use this sort of tactic against the people whom they wish to kill? Males tend to murder using violence, but females tend to be poisoners. (Not that your mother is a poisoner or a murderess...but the GESTURE that she made against her abuser is similar to that of a victimized, desperate person who poisons her abuser.) The difference is that male abusers use their usually-superior physical strength to control and dominate others, so their victims often feel that they have no "out," other than to kill their abusers in ways that don't put themselves into danger, physically.

I did once contemplate putting somthing in hubbys tea. I found out he had been smoking canabis and I wasn't too pleased I was gonna make his tea with a load mixed in it, thinking if he likes it that much i was gonna get him wrecked. Thought better of it though cos could of killed him or somat.

When we was in Bosnia, we had to make the Sargent lots of brews, so we put laxative in his brew every time we made him one. The only problem was he had that may cups of tea he Nealy shat himself inside out. Funny but not for him.
