Hello.

Well I don't know about a giant dog but one of the best dogs for children are the Collies (lassie dog).

You can get them in a Goldy colour and they are very pretty indeed.

Did you know that one Collie travelled 2000 miles to find his family after he became lost.

A Collie is a noble, highly intelligent dog.

It is sensitive, kind, sweet and very easy to train.

The Collie dog is very loyal to their families and are usually good with other pets and friendly with other dogs.

They are very devoted to and protective of his family.

Collies make an excellent children's companion, they are playful and gentle.

They can be wilful as can all dogs and must be trained gently or he will refuse to cooperate.

Collie puppies house train quickly, generally in about a week or two.

They are good-natured, friendly, dogs.

They are energetic when outdoors.

They can be wary of strangers if they come near the ones they love and has a fairly good sense of protectiveness for its master and especially for children.

The Collie dog usually lives to a good age of 14 to 16 yrs old.

I think this dog would be a perfect friend for your sister although at the end of the day it is entirely up to your Mum and Dad which dog they choose.

There are a lot of dogs out there that are good with children and here is a list of some of them for you.

English Setter
Flat coated Retriever
Golden Retriever
Gorden Setter
Great Dane
Irish Wolfhound
Labrador Retriever
Newfoundland
Old English Sheepdog
Saint Bernard
Samoyed
The Standard Poodle
Welsh Springer Spaniel

These are just a few of the dogs that are very good with children.

I hope you find the best dog for your little sister and that he or she brings you lots of fun, laughter and love.

Best Wishes.

Sandyrarr.

Your little sister is 3 years old huh? The best pet that I'd recommend for her is a hamster! 3 year olds are WAY too young to take on the roll of being responsible for pets. I don't recommend a giant dog for your sister... that's the last thing you need to give to your sister.

Go to the dog pound and see which dog she bonds with. That's how we got ours, and he's been great for the last six years.
