What you want to do is look for changes in behavior. Like if he used to be around a lot and suddenly he disappears that's not good at all. You could also ask him where he was in person and see what he does. He might unconciously look away when he tells you so watch his body language really closely. Women are like 10 times better at reading body language than men are. Also, usually if you think he's cheating he is. It's obvious that he's given you a reason not to trust him, unless you've had cheating issues in the past and you're just scared of it happening again. If you do have a history of being cheated on the chances are that you'll always feel like someone is going to cheat on you even though they're not.

Some things you can look for are changes of behavior, perfume smells on his clothes, loss of sex drive (since he's getting it elsewhere else), lack of affection, cancelling of plans on short notice, he doesn't answer his cell phone when you know it's on him, basically just strange behaviors.
