First, I'd like to say that I do believe Allah and God are the same entity. It's how we interpret His will that differs.
Many people don't associate Allah with God perhaps due the following reasons:
1. Mohammad says he was visited by an angel of light who called himself Jibril (Gabriel). The Bible specifically describes Lucifer (a.k.a. Satan) as an angel of light and the father of lies. We believe Satan's goal is to distort God's word in such a way (such as HERESY) that people will follow a false path which APPEARS to lead to God, but in fact leads to nowhere. Satan doesn't want you in hell, he just doesn't want you to be with God. Satan is JEALOUS because he got kicked out of heaven.
2. Mohammad says God has no partners or mediators, yet he still speaks of angels working for and with Him. This seems like an inconsistency that would not be made by an angel of God. Again, inconsistency and contradiction = lie. If all of Mohammad's declarations were truly dictations of the angel who gives him revelations, then Mohammad is simply repeating lies given to him by the angel. Lying angel = Satan.
3. Mohammad tells his followers not to make friends with a Jew and/or Christian, but strangely... allows them (men only) to marry one. We believe God would be most pleased with fellowship and friendship, rather than dissention and division. It doesn't make sense to us that an angel of God would instruct someone to reject friendship with someone who believes in the God of Abraham.
These are a few reasons. I'm sure there are many more, but hopefully this gives you some insight as to why people are wary and mistrustful of Islam.
Peace.

Sorry, it is not the same god...in no way, shape or form.
First of all it must be emphasized that Jews and Christians do pray to the same God. We share the same Scriptures. The New Testament is built upon the Old Testament and there are no contradictions between them.
The same is NOT TRUE concerning Islam. They are not worshipping the same God as Jews and Christians. Let's look at the clear facts. Mohammad grew up in Mecca in Arabia, belonging to the Quraysh tribe in charge of idol worship at the Kabah shrine, containing the black stone and at least 360 idols. The word for god or idol in Arabic is "ilah." Allah was the name for the main idol worshiped in Mecca. The name was probably originally derived from the two Arabic words "al" and "ilah", meaning "the god" or "the idol."
Allah was also used as THE PERSONAL NAME among the Arabs for the moon god. Its symbol was the crescent moon found on many idols from pre-Islamic Arabia. Every year there was a pilgrimage to Mecca to worship Allah at the black stone. People were taught to turn towards Mecca several times a day. One month every year, beginning and ending with the crescent moon, was dedicated to fasting.
Mohammad built upon all of these already known forms of idol worship. The only thing that was new was that Mohammad declared the pagan moon deity "Allah" to be the only true god and forbade the worship of all the other idols in Mecca. The basic confession within Islam is, "Allah is greater [greater than all the other idols]. There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his prophet." Professor Augustus H. Strong makes an accurate assessment in his "Systematic Theology" when he declares that Islam "is heathenism in monotheistic form." Mohammad simply took the chief deity within the pantheon in Arabia, and made it the only god, keeping the pagan practices associated with this idol worship. This is of course in complete contradiction to the basic message about the one and true God found in the Bible, both in the Old and the New Testament, where idol worship is strictly forbidden. Abraham was chosen to leave cult worship surrounding the moon god in Ur of the Chaldeans, to go to a different land, in order to give mankind the revelation about the only true God as a loving Father and Savior.
To confuse the issue, Mohammad declared that Allah is the god of the Jews and the Christians. Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus were all prophets sent by Allah. Since Mohammad's beliefs did not agree with the Scriptures, Mohammad declared that the Jews and the Christians have perverted the Scriptures. Therefore Allah has rejected them and cursed them and has sent Mohammad to replace the Bible with the Koran; and to replace Judaism and Christianity with Islam. It is the duty of Islam to subjugate and destroy the infidels, the Christians and the Jews. Islam is Satan's most powerful and successful plan to destroy true faith in the God of the Bible.
In Islam religion and politics are joined together. Allah is not primarily interested in individuals. Love is a completely foreign concept in Islam. Allah is destined to rule the world. That is the basis of Islam. Everything else is related to this goal. The world is divided into two parts, Dar-al-Salaam meaning "House of Peace" where Allah rules and Dar-al-Harb, "House of War" where the people are not in submission to Allah and Islam.

You obviously are not very well informed about Islam. That makes you vulnerable to being declared a Kafir and hence, marked for death (just ask the muslims in the Sudan about how that can happen to muslims). Anyway, you need to study the Quran and the Hadiths as is your obligation to do so. Also, study the life of the prophet and listen to what the clerics say about this issue. They make it very clear that allah is NOT God.
Perhaps the best explanation of this comes from the satanic verses:
http://answering-islam.org.uk/Responses/Saifullah/sverses.htm
These make it very clear that allah is NOT God but is, instead, a moon god from early pagan religions. Satan possessed Muhammad and forced him to claim that the sister dieties to allah should also be worshipped. These verses were later expunged from the Quran. Note that all muslims authorities agree that this event took place. You can disagree but that is heresy and punished with death. It's OK to lie about it though. All part of jihad:
http://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/JR/Future/ch16_understanding_dishonesty.htm
Of course, I have to ask. If Muhammad was possessed by satan, can he be a true prophet? True prophets are protected by God. Of course, allah is not God, so that really isn't an issue. But, the possession by satan is troubling. If you bother to learn about the life of Muhammad, you will discover that he spent most of it, murdering, robbing, raping, torturing and enslaving people. That is exactly what you would expect from someone possessed by satan. Muslims have engaged in the same behavior almost non-stop for all of the history of Islam, only calming down when they were weak compared to their victims, and then attacking whenever they gained any strength at all. This behavior continues to this day.
How can you live with the shame of belonging to a satanic religion?

Few Christians know that Allah is the same God that made Heavens and earth. HOWEVER, you Muslims don't believe that Jesus died in the cross to cover our sins. That's the part were we disconnect. We Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God, died in the cross as a sacrifice for us, the humanity. And Jesus rose again and Will come back soon.

I don't think you have a different god. Because there is only one god, the true God. Your "god" doesn't exists.
Why would the God of the Jews that sent Jesus Christ to this earth to redeem mankind send your "mohammad" to teach something different? God would not send two people to earth to lead people in two different directions.
There is only one God and one way to heaven. And Allah and Islam is not the way.

We do not worship the same god. Our God is Jehovah, the God of the Bible. Your god is Allah, the moon god. No offence intended.

It must be the same god. So many of his followers claim to be doing his work when they murder others.

The god that Christians worship would not tolerate
the behavior exhibited by Muslims...
Therefore, they must be different gods or that god is
really pissed at the Muslims...
