1 gig- 1 1/2 CD's
2 gig- Just under 3 CD's

If you convert all your files to MP3's first you could save a lot more on your flash drive...Hope this helps

None of the previous answers are WRONG but they aren't complete enough in my opinion. It depends on how you encode them. With MP3's you can use a lower sampling rate (Say 64 BPS-roughly the same quality as FM radio), the files will be much smaller than the 190 - 320 BPS many download sites use. Of course, you lose the higher fidelity sound reproduction possible with the higher bit rate encoding. The balance YOU are willing to be satisfied with is something only you can answer.

What i do, is when I download from Musicmatch Jukebox is burn it to an Audio CD, and resample the original to MP3 at 64 bps. That way, I have a high fidelity digital rights managed copy, an audio copy for the car and the 'big stereo' in the living room, and a 'low-rez' copy suitable for transferring to an MP3 Player.

Well i believe most CD-R's have 700 MB, a Gig is a 1000 MB so on each gig of flash you can fit one CD-R and an extra 300 MB.

I personally useDVD-Rs because I can burn movies, hours of music, and be able to put 4.7 gigs of files on them. I get them at the 99 cents store =)

usually about 100 min of songs for one gb. most disk have 700 mbs or 70 mins of song time on it. if it is a flash drive and your not going to listen to it convert all songs to mp3 format then put in one folder and commpress to free up space. should work fine
