I worked as a denture tech for several years...and the answer is that it varies. The teeth that are placed in the acrylic base come in different price ranges, in OK and AR area, a cheap set of dentures will be $300 and an expensive set $1100. We would warranty the cheap set for 2 years and the expensive ones for 10 years. Of course, one's eating habits will change this...had one patient who loved hard candy and quickly worn out one side. Also, over time, the alveolar ridge (the bone in the gums) resorbs (shrinks at a different rate for different people) and the denture no longer fits properly and adhesive or relining becomes necessary. The alveolar ridge won't shrink nearly as fast if the denture is removed at night. Hope this helped some.

As many have said above, this is entirely dependent on the individual and the basic quality of the dentures. I've seen dentures 30 years old that look like new and 5 years old that look like they were ... um ... 30 years old.

Maybe 10 years or so. As you get older your gums shrink so they will not last forever.
